I’ll give it five stars. It’s a little heavy though I think. Very easy to install and remove. Also if you’re trying to stay under the 250 g Mark it’s not going to work for you. Having said that zero accessories will probably work lol

I bought these for my Mini 3 Pro in order to apply for the FAA Waiver of Flight Over People. These are a bit better than I expected, in terms of quality. They connect well and are easily assembled and clipped onto the drone. They do work. I tried them out on myself! I can confirm however that the drone does detect the Prop Guards are installed and does then disable Object Detection. Also, the statement that they do not affect “normal” flight is mostly correct. In fact, with the added weight of these and a beacon, the drone seems to be even a little more controllable. However, I flew this on a windy day and I can say that they do definitely have an effect on the drone’s ability to handle wind. I flew this downwind in a gusty, 17mph wind (per current local forecast) and almost couldn’t bring it back. Without the guards it still had to work to get back, but I wasn’t worried about it. With the guards, I though I barely got it back and thought I might have to just land it and go retrieve it myself. That’s the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Don’t buy just learn how to fly
Don’t buy. Extremely limits the usability of the drone. Its unsafe to fly it in sport mode at all while using these. But if you just plan on taking pictures in cinematic mode you will be just fine. Be careful in the wind. It loses a ton of power

They get the job done
I picked these up for my mini 3 drone. I tested these on my drone indoors and they work great. They don’t seem to affect the drone’s flight. Eventually I plant on trying them outdoors, but with the added weight I would have to register the drone. I may decide to do that down the road and if/when I do, I’ll make sure to update the review.

The guards are useful but when it’s installed you won’t be allowed to go higher than 30m due to the weight.

Purchased this in my never-ending question to bird proof my drones. My Mini3Pro has survived many many near misses, but there’s been so many heart-stopping moments and so many interrupted shoots while the horrid flying dinosaurs would buzz the little drone until i had to flee in terror.I took the opportunity of getting the Mini 5 Pro to see if this bird issue could be solved somehow. Tried the red reflective tape, and i think it just made them see red (ahem) and attack harder. Put the strobe because i heard that reflective foil will confuse them, but while it made them wary for a very short while, they very quickly figured out that it was just the same old plastic bird with a diamond tiara…The plus side of the light is that it makes it much easier to see the drone in the sky, but as far as dissuading our friendly aerial terrorists, it does nothing. I won’t be using it anymore for that purpose. It adds weight too (about 10gm)As a final futile clenched fist to the skies, i ordered these guards and tested the drone (full loaded). As usual, shipment time is extremely quick. The guards came in a little box, packed reasonably well. They are specific to each arm and the fit is perfect. The props clear the guards well but are still protected inside their cage.While the guards make the drone a little cumbersome and much slower (also it seems to detect the guards, probably from the weight and reduces performance accordingly), i’m much more comfortable with going close to the wall or bushes. I really should have done this earlier! (as always). In sport mode it is quick enough to climb quickly enough to outrun the birds and most of the other time, i’m not trying to set a speed record but get smooth footage. The guards don’t seem to affect that very much (although i noticed it was a bit more sensitive to wind gusts).In some of my testing over the last few days, i had noticed some very near touches which i thought might also be accidental (they couldn’t see the props?) but with the guards on, the edge of the drone is very obvious. Today’s test went as usual and even though the drone is taped red, had the strobe, there was a clear attack (from the rear! How can they tell??) that tapped the guard. The drone spun in place like a top but didn’t seem fazed at all. I imagine a stronger strike from the top might tip it over the angle at which it can recover, but the side/fly-past strike is easily managed by its stability control.Overall, in spite of the reduced speed (and possibly battery life – but i have many batteries), i would highly recommend the guards just for the added comfort and extra safety margin both with the birds AND going close to walls and bushes.** NOTE – the nearly 100gm extra in the picture is from the tape + strobe + wide-angle lens + guards. Even though the ad says only 35gm, i think it’s closer to 70gm. I didn’t weigh it separately **

Excellent product, easy to put on, light weight and also doesn’t affect the stability of my drone. I bought it as an extra protection for flying indoor and it did wonders. I do highly recommend it!
