i had the energy 5.1 speakers. they did ok but i found myself constantly turning on closed-captions for clarity. energy was purchased to comply with a request – someone didn’t want to see speakers in the family room. seems sacrilegious but fine.it’s been well over a decade now and the lack of clarity was driving me nuts. in my opinion, centers don’t have to work that hard especially, if the system includes a powered thumper. course, if you’re a ‘phile, you’re likely throwin’ up bout now. know that these comments ain’t for you folks, k. i look for strong and clear audio from my center. this xt35, kills it!it’s super pricey now but this center is the cat’s meow! in fact, i bought it on a goof. i had just replaced the front surrounds with a pair of polks. it’s embarrassing but they’re behind a drape. same deal though, the energy’s were a joke. these surrounds brought additional clarity and volume, i didn’t think was possible. still, most of the dialog is channeled to the center. rarely use the captions now.full disclosure, none of these speakers were plucked off the vine. i’m out of pocket like most, if not all here. still, it’s a very good buy!

Polk is a good option
Polk makes great speakers. I needed something small enough to fit in a media console and I didn’t want it to sit out on top of it speakers are not really something that look great. This was better than a sound bar and most importantly for 4 1/2 inches that fit perfectly into the spot. I use it as a center channel speaker with my Sony AV and ceiling speakers.

Great sound for its size
I had purchased this center channel speaker along with Polk’s Signature Elite ES10 front speakers for our home theater system.I had researched reviews and ratings, and needed fairly compact size speakers so they would not be over-bearing.Once we had finalized and settled on using Polk speaker’s, we narrowed down some choices.We were a little dismayed at Amazon on which model or versions they would ship to Hawaii. For example, we wanted to have the center channel speaker (ES30 or ES35) to match the ES10, but for some unknown reason, Amazon won’t ship them here. We’ve run into this on lots of other items, not just these speakers.Regardless, we are very happy with our selections, The sound is great, and while watching tv or movies, voices come through quite clear as we were having a lot trouble understanding speech without having to have the volume up high. While these are fairly compact in size, don’t let the size fool you. They pack quite a bit along with Polk’s XT35 center speaker and a Yamaha 8″ powered subwoofer, we have a pretty nice small home theater, although at this time is only the front. I haven’t yet figured out a cost-effective way to incorporate rear speaks as there is no clean way to hard-wire speakers and currently wireless rear speakers are cost-prohibitive.

Je l’ai mis sur un amplificateur denon ,ça fonctionne très bien ,les dialogues ressortent il y a plus de volume sonore ,je suis en 3.1 , prochaine étapes les surround à l’arrière pour du 5.1 je resterai avec la même marque . l’enceinte n’est pas trop haute 10cm ce qui va bien avec mon téléviseur.

This is a slim center speaker from Polk Audio, not a headphone from Audio Technica. 😎 The important thing for us is that the speaker is slim and sounds ok.Works fine even with our old Audiovector “towers” but then we are no “purists”. Maybe ok because both AV X3 and Polk XT35 are considered to be a bit “bright”?The “off axis” difference in sound is there but no dealbreaker for us but has to be mentioned. Many center speakers with that “problem”
