Holds my heavy camera in place very well, even with a heavy telephoto lens
It’s compact, sturdy, holds a heavy camera in position nicely, no slipping. The ad says “padded at touch points” not that I see. Second thing, there is no storage bag for travel, it’s compact for travel so why no travel bag? Other that that it’s functional and works well just thought at this price it would have a travel bag. If it had one I would give it a 5 star rating, everything else is top notch.

A versatile, lightweight tripod that’s excellent for hiking
I have an older version of this tripod (XC-M 525C) which I bought in 2019.This tripod is not a studio tripod – it’s much lighter and it’s not quite as stable as a dedicated studio tripod would be.However, it is perfect for hiking. It’s very light so I never waffle on bringing it. The legs are detachable and you can convert it to work as a monopod. It has a hook on the bottom of the center column for your bag to add stability to the tripod. You can unscrew the hook and flip the center column upside down to shoot your camera lower to the ground. The ball head can spin horizontally, includes levels, and is still working great for me.The tripod does have a few downsides: The thinnest leg extension is quite thin and the tripod can get unstable in windy conditions when the tripod is at its maximum height. The tripod legs “click” into specific angles and I wish there were more possible angles for them. Finally, the ball head lock has a finicky design with an outer dial which locks the ball head and an inner dial which restricts the outer dial. Sometimes this inner dial tightens up when tightening the outer dial, and you can’t unlock the ball head until re-adjusting the inner dial. To adjust the inner dial you must also *further* tighten the outer dial, or it won’t spin. Once you figure this out, it’s just part of the process, but it’s still annoying.I got this tripod for about $160 and for the price I think it’s a steal.

Does the job
Nice tripod I take hiking. Light-weight and easy to use. Sturdy to handle most shots with my Canon Mark IV when doing landscape shots.

unintentionally disassembled.
Purchased at local camera store – before 1st use – trying to extend 1 leg and it came apart. – and according to their website (because it comes with no instructions) “If you rotate and unlock a leg lock too far, that portion of the leg may become unintentionally disassembled.”Update – went back to camera store and they fixed it
