Featuring a wide illumination area and surprisingly compact design, the Play wall washer is the ultimate TV enhancement. ColorCast technology and a sleek aluminum design make it the perfect colorful accent for your home theater (or anywhere else).
Wider light effect: No matter how far it’s placed from the wall, the Play wall washer covers three times as much surface in colorful light as other wall washers.
ColorCast technology: The first of its kind, our innovative design of precisely arranged LEDs projects color like no other gradient light.
Powerful display: Offering up to 1035 lm, this wall washer can shine bright. Ultra-low dimming means it can also become a beautiful backdrop or nightlight.
High-quality materials: It’s made from aluminum with a matte finish, meaning you won’t catch any glare from the TV off the light itself.
Compact design: Despite its powerful light output, the Play wall washer is small in size — only 15,7 cm x 9,1 cm — meaning it fits in smaller spaces, such as on a crowded TV stand or sideboard.

really nice TV background light
I needed more light in my living room, and this was a great way to add some indirect ambient light. As usual, the Philips Hue connectivity has been reliable and the colors are fun. Works great on Apple devices and Home Assistant.

Too expensive, not that great
Price is insane for what this is. Buy it if it’s 80% off, otherwise keep shopping or you’ll be disappointed.

Overpriced
Great product but very overpriced.

Disappointing spread, not really a wall washer
I had high hopes for these based on the “wall washer” name, but the light only reaches a few feet above the fixture itself before fading out completely. If you’re trying to light up a tall wall or create that dramatic floor to ceiling uplighting effect, these aren’t going to do it.The colors themselves are great, as you’d expect from Philips Hue. Rich, saturated, and the ColorCast feature does add some nice depth. Integration with the rest of my Hue setup was seamless too. That said, the light output doesn’t match what the product name implies. For the price, I expected a much wider and taller reach. If you have a short wall or just want a subtle accent right at the base, maybe these work. For anything more ambitious, look elsewhere.

Best wall lighting, period.
I’ve got 20K invested in uplighting/tube lighting for DJing so I can be a bit of a lighting snob. These wall washes are insanely good. The gradients look amazing on a wall. (Way better looking in person than the photo). The Phillips play app also is fantastic and very addicting to play with. I’ll be buying another set of these for my living room because they look that good.

Hue Wallwasher review.
I was already using two playbars placed behind my display and was content, but when I discovered the wall washers were released they intrigued me and I purchased a two pack. Setup was as seamless as it gets and the integration into the Hue app is amazing. Hue it out of the park with this one. There are default scenes to choose from or create your own. The default scenes automatically make all your Hue lamps part of scene. I have two playbars, two signe table lamps, a color adjustable bulb in my floor lamp, and two second Gen Govee floor lamps. The ambience that is created is totally insane. The wall washers are an excellent improvement over the playbars, I mean like there really isn’t any comparison. In my opinion the Hue Wallwashers are a total five star product.

Not bright enough
Yes nice colors. Yes nice format. Not bright enough. As other reviewers stated, just too weak for this money. You could buy 3 play bars for this money. Heck 6 if you bought them used.

These little lights pack a color explosion & are exactly what my sync box set up was missing. The splash color not only on the wall but into the ceiling to. They are expensive but if you are into the sync box lighting system it’s par for the course.

Gives lots of light spread nicely over the wall. You need to have it far enough back to really work proper I only have it behind my tv 10″ to the wall and it doesn’t spread well, I figure 15 inches would be ideal.Definitely a solid piece of equipment I have many hue bulbs from 1st gen white and colour to newest only one has bit the dust after 7 years. It’s a Great ecosystem to get into very expensive but high qaulity that is worth the price if you get the longevity. They work fairly flawlessly with smartthings, alexa those are the two I use. I’m sure google and home kit will be the same.

Very disappointing about this product, that is not something I say lightly as a hue owner for over 10 years. It provide no where near as much light as advertised and the share transformer unit further limited how you can place it.It might be good for tiny studios but will not replace your light strips or ambience lights for sure.Return process is also complicated as you must print out labels and they demand to use only one shipper. In all, a huge waste of time and plenty of disappointment
