This soundbar, paired with Samsung TV, activates “Q-Symphony” sound mode which combines the TV speakers with the bar and subwoofer.The result is very clear, clean and detailed sound with rumbling bass and crisp dialogue. I plan to add wireless rear SWA-9500S surrounds to fill the whole room with awesome sound!

Q800D Soundbar Review, no rear satellites
Context: Paired this with a new Samsung QN70F 2025 tv. Connected via Qsymphony HDMI/EARC. Old configuration was a 12 year old Samsung tv with a cheap Visio sound bar.Performance: On my old configuration I’d routinely have to up the volume up to 50% in order to hear certain conversations. For this new combo, I have yet needed to increase volume above 25% as conversations are crystal clear and the bass is more than I’d ever need.Interface: The Qsymphony HDMI/EARC thing is an amazing piece of tech. You used to need two remotes or a universal remote to control the tv and the audio; not anymore.Ease of use: Took a little bit to figure out how to connect the subwoofer to the soundbar, turns out you need to follow the instructions (user error) and power the sub first and then the soundbar. Afterwards it connected with no problem.Value: I am hesitant to give it 5 stars cause part of me thinks the 600C is probably enough for most people (including myself) and is significantly less in cost. I ended up going with the Q800D because (1) I figure it is more expandable in supposing I want to get the rear speakers in the future (2) Electronics have a lot of longevity nowadays. My old setup lasted 12 years b4 needing replacing and it wasn’t the soundbar that went first. Figured I may as well get a more expandable speaker since it is likely to last a while.

Awesome Q800D and Q990D!
Purchased this Q800D and a Q990D a couple of weeks before. Both systems work great. Be sure you have a new version of the SmartThings App. It makes it a lot easier. I’m running both sound bars on QN90c Samsungs. I have a 75″ in the living room and 55″ in the master bedroom.The Q990D is absolutely awesome. Period. The Q800D is perfect for my master bedroom. Solid sound and vocals come right through. Don’t even really need the rear speaker kit at this point. Beach Camera is my new go to. I saved a lot of money and am very happy.

Solid Sound + Easy Set-Up
Arrived on time and undamaged. Easy set-up on the first try with a Samsung TV already installed. The bar is heavier that it looks, so be sure whatever you put it on (or mount it on) is rated for the weight. The sound is really solid. There is an app or you can use the remote to tweak the relative volume of the individual channels. The bass is very solid.

This sound bar was not for me.
These new sound bars are not plug-in play like the old ones. You have to download a special app to try to get it to adapt to your TV. Once you make a mistake you can’t go back and change it. I ended up sending it back for a full refund.

This is such a beautiful sound setup to pair with my Samsung Q80D TV. I’m hearing things in games and films that I didn’t hear before and in some games the surround sound is so good I can hear where things are coming from very easily.Feeling the whole room rumble in action scenes then the crystal clear clarity in quieter moments makes me wonder why O didn’t take the plunge sooner.The seller is good and responsive but Parcel Force not so much – their communication skills are virtually non-existent after sending me a message on Friday saying it’d be delivered on Monday despite them not even being in possession of the item – eventually turned up on Thursday so be aware of that as they’re terrible. But, this is a review of the product, not the delivery after all and for the product it gets a big thumbs up from me.One word of advice – setup is very easy but for the eARC connection on Samsung TVs you’ll need to go into the External Device Manager and ensure Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) is turned on first or it won’t find it. Then go to the sound menu, expert settings and turn on HDMI eARC mode from there.

Well made, looks good, works well with our LG OLED, don’t need to have the sound level up so much now (as per the case when just using the onboard sound on the tv ) not full of flashing lights when in use. Discreet small LED display only visible at switch on. Very pleased overall with this.
