Refurbish unit is complete garbage.
Refurbish – excellent? The unit was a complete garbage. I heard loose metals within the unit as soon as I opened it, and I couldn’t turn on the device since the hole where the electrical cord is plugged in wasn’t aligned. This was manufactured in May 2016. That is a ten-year-old unit.

Solid docking station with a few quirks
The Dell D3100 Dock is a reliable way to add multiple displays and USB ports to a laptop, and it mostly delivers what it promises. Setup was simple, and I was able to get dual monitors running smoothly at decent resolutions. The included 65W power delivery is a nice bonus that keeps my laptop charged without needing an extra brick on the desk, and the range of USB and video ports makes it easy to connect peripherals without juggling adapters.It’s not perfect — performance can dip a bit depending on the monitor setup and USB 3.0 limits, and not every laptop handles all three displays the same — but for everyday productivity and multi-screen work it’s been solid. Good choice if you want a straightforward dock that expands your connectivity without too much fuss.

I have a Dell Inspiron 17 3000…My Original Dell Docking Station went dead…I ordered this one and honestly – This was probably the best and most simply setup I have ever done on Docking Stations. Additionally, it was more cost effective than the one I had from Dell….I Fully and whole heartedly APPROVE this DS.

Met my need
I bought the Inspiron laptop 15 because of the price point. Then I needed a dock to use it as workstation in my home office. I bought a non-dell and was disappointed as the HDMI failed after a couple of weeks. No problem with this product so far. I think I’ve been using this now for about 3 weeks. So good so far. I regret not having a USBC to dock with on the Inspiron but I’ll live it.

Not only did I find the docking station on Amazon but the price was reasonable and it was delivered in two days!! It was shipped from the US but still two days!!
