Versatile laptop – great for all my needs!
This 2025 Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 laptop has been an all-around great machine for me. I’m a creative type and what you’d call a patient gamer. All the other basic tasks work as expected – Meet/Teams/Zoom work – the camera resolution is fine and no one has complained about the audio yet. I’ve tried out a few streaming programs and web-based ones and everything plays well and sounds acceptable.I don’t often play AAA games upon release, most of what I play is a year or more old. A little bit of everything – first and third person horror, open world adventure, 2d platformers, tile laying and puzzle games. I’m looking to play and not really min-maxing specs but I did test out Marvel Rivals and Bioshock Infinite on the highest settings (Rivals at 1440P) and it played without issue. No stuttering or slowdown, but the fan kicked on pretty much immediately. I am looking forward to have my libraries on Steam, Epic and Amazon games available where ever I go.I have older copies of Creative Suite and successfully hobbled together some projects using PS, Ill and ID. I do some video editing for simple shorts so I tested out Canva on the laptop and it worked flawlessly.

Battery issues?
Laptop shuts itself off even when fully charged. I cannot restart unless I hold the power button down for a few minutes to discharge the battery then recharge again. Will be contacting Amazon and Lenovo for a claim.

Crashes
While this does work as intended, this particular product I got would crash frequently. I have done plenty of troubleshooting with this and made sure everything is updated, however it still persists, leading me to believe it is a hardware issue.

Great laptop if you disable Windows AI features
Screen – 5 starsKeyboard – 4 starsTrackpad – 3 starsAI deployment – 1 starThis is sold as an AI laptop but Microsoft’s AI features in windows consume so much RAM that 16 gigs are running at 80-90% most of the time. I had to find a back way to disable the AI features and now I’m running around 42%. I would just upgrade the RAM to 32GB but there is no upgrade option with the chips soldered to the motherboard.

Vivid OLED Powerhouse for Work and Play
Vivid OLED Powerhouse for Work and PlayI’ve been using the Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5 (16″, 2025 model) and it’s a strong option for creators and gamers who want a premium-feeling laptop without going full “desktop replacement.” The 16″ OLED display is the star, exceptionally vivid and noticeably brighter than other laptops I’ve used, which makes both creative work and games pop. Setup was quick (about 30 minutes), Windows Hello face sign-in worked right away, and overall responsiveness has been snappy. For gaming, I saw smooth performance in Helldivers on low–medium settings. For creator tasks, it’s handled 3D scanning and processing reliably. The keyboard layout feels slightly off-center; it threw me for a bit at first but wasn’t a deal-breaker. My main wish is for more onboard memory at this price,16GB works, but headroom would help for heavier multitasking and creator workflows.ProsStunning, very bright 16″ OLED, fantastic for games and creative workQuick, easy setup; Windows Hello face unlock works smoothlyResponsive performance; plays Helldivers at low–medium settings without issuesHandles 3D scanning/processing well for project workPremium build and feelConsKeyboard feels slightly off-center (minor adjustment period)Would benefit from more RAM for the priceFans can ramp under load (expected with gaming/creator tasks)Potential drawbacks/concernsIf you plan to run heavy creative suites plus many browser tabs, consider a higher-RAM configuration or be mindful of memory use.OLED brightness is great, but you may want to set up battery and display profiles to balance battery life vs. visual punch.Game settings will need tuning per title to stay smooth on the go.ConclusionOverall, this is a balanced, premium-feeling laptop with a phenomenal OLED screen, straightforward setup, and solid performance for creators and casual gaming. If you can live with the slightly off-center keyboard and wish for a bit more RAM, it’s a compelling pick for a bright, color-rich portable that pulls double duty for work and play.
