So easy to set up. Choosing a chime was hard because there are so many to choose from and you have to cycle through all of them. I love that I didn’t need to hardwire it in at the front. Works like a charm.

The ZLinkStar Wireless Doorbell has provided me with a very easy way to upgrade my doorbell without having to deal with wired electric connections that can be difficult to install and route. Although I already have a built-in doorbell, it is over 60 years old and sounds it! This modern kit gives me not one but two chimes with a choice of rings.Installation couldn’t have been easier. These compact plug in the chimes anywhere in your house with a standard plug and stick the doorbell with the included double-sided adhesive and it was done!The chimes are plugged in – upside is no worries about ever running out of batteries. Downside: you will be taking up a plug in your house on an almost permanent basis. The remote button is no doubt a battery operated part of the kit. The whole thing is mostly made of plastic which should hold up to moisture and the elements while outside. Overall the build is nice.You have too many chimes to choose from, so finding one you like should not be a problem.The chimes are loud and do have volume adjustment so you can fine tune them to your needs. I keep one in the living room, closest to the front door and the other in the back bedroom, where you seldom even hear people knocking.My only observation is the button is very non-descript and black. It would maybe help to have “Door Bell” written on it to eliminate any doubt. I find people sometimes still press my old one, instead of what should be the more obvious and modern choice.The ZLinkStar is a good value for the money and solves a problem very quickly and efficiently, saving you time and money in getting an electrician to install one for you. This is the most DIY door-bell system I have ever come across.
