Great Value TV With a Surprisingly Nice Art Mode
The Amazon Fire TV 32” 2-Series is a solid, affordable TV that offers more than I expected for the price. Picture quality is good for its size and category, and the Fire TV interface is responsive and easy to navigate. One standout feature is the new art mode. It gives off a similar vibe to much more expensive frame-style TVs, which makes the screen feel less like a black rectangle when it’s not in use. For a budget TV, this is a really nice touch and adds to the overall experience.Setup was quick, the remote works well, and streaming apps load smoothly. Sound is adequate for everyday viewing, though you may want external speakers for a fuller audio experience.Overall, this is an excellent value for a smaller TV, especially if you like the idea of art mode without paying premium frame-TV prices. It’s a great option for bedrooms, offices, or secondary spaces.

    Great value
I am very pleased with the tv’s quality and function. When we set it up, the power cord did not fit. An amazon rep suggested using the cord from our old tv and it worked. The new AI function has been great and the streaming gives us a lot of variety. It is not capable with our cable service.

Good Basic Set – Easy Set Up. Ambient Mode is Useless.
For a budget TV that fits in our media cabinet (40 inch model), this was one of the few choices available. It is an easy set up right out of the box with a linked Prime account. It connected immediately and downloaded my apps within the first 30 minutes. It is not 4K but our couch is only 8 feet away, and I just don’t think 4K is worth it in a smaller room. At regular HD quality, this is sharp and decent quality. The on board speakers are not good, and if you have legacy stereo equipment that connects via RCA cables, you will need to get a DAC adapter that goes into the optical port and connects to your cables (this also requires setting sound output to PCM because the digital sound output is not supported). This will get you better stereo sound than most soundbar set ups and it won’t take up the second HDMI port that is designed to also support sound bars. One complaint: Fire TV OS used to have a simple screen saver mode that connected to your Amazon Photos albums. They replaced this with “ambient mode” in 2025, but that can still connect to an album and run your photos like a picture frame. Well, that still works, but it is useless. The TV will go into Ambient Mode after 5 minutes and play your album…for about 5 minutes. Then the TV goes into sleep mode and there is no apparent setting to change that. The “sleep timer” does NOT keep an idle screen in Ambient Mode running for the duration of the timer. So if you enjoyed having your set act like a digital picture frame, that is a nonstarter on this Fire TV.

    Great little tv.
Easy set up out of the box. Great picture and sound. I wear hearing aids and I find the sound doesn’t need turned way up. Good purchase for my exercise/ sewing room.

Lots of Issues! I Hate This TV!
Update #2: Several months later tis TV will not reliably get many of the Free Prime channels! It just hands on them so I have to quit and star over. Usually takes several attempts. Also, often when Free Prime channels go to ads (paying extra for NO Ads apparently doesn’t apply to the Free Prime channels even though they are Amazon!) and come back again the audio and video are out of synch so I have to quit and restart them (which can take several attempts as previously mentioned)My Sony TV with a FireTV stick has no problems at all. I hate this TV! Should’ve bought a Sony with a FireTV stick like I have in my living room!Amazon need to test and fix this TV with the Free Prime channels! How hard can that be?Update #1: I’ve struggled with this TV for a month. It is slow to load apps which often freeze or crash. For example: DirecTV. Sometimes I have to unplug the TV and plug it back in again to restart it. Many of the Free Prime channels are either slow to load, freeze or never load (Video unavailable or progress indicator that never completes) so I have to quit the channel and try again. Sometimes it then works, sometimes not. Again, an inadequately tested example of consumer electronics. No wonder it’s so cheap! Should’ve bought a Sony! What’s with renaming this TV to Ember?Problem #1: the feet are incorrectly marked! The foot marked L goes on the Right side and the foot marked R goes on the Left side. How could this slip by QA testing?Problem #2: I’m in CA and the Weather app shows the weather for a town in CO that I lived in 12 years ago and still have phone # for. If I go into settings I can change the Location to my CA zip code but it doesn’t stick and reverts to back the CO zip code. I have tried changing it several times with no success. How could the developers have not tested this?Problem #3: I had expected that all my apps and settings would be easily transferrable from my old FireTV stick. Alas, that is NOT the case. I had to install and activate them all which took an hour!Problem #4: Ambient mode is useless! It will only run for a few minutes and then shut off so no use as wall art! Also, when it appears, for the first minute it will show annoying messages across the bottom of the screen! This is another typical example of a half-baked product that has NOT undergone adequate pre-release testing, as seem to be the case for most products nowadays!

    GOOD CHOICE
I really would rather have a dumb TV but that’s not happening anymore. This one I think I’ll get used to. The picture is excellent & we were able to hook up both of our DVD players. We also hooked the Bose to it for sound. The TV speakers are good as far as TV speakers go. It’s been up only 2 days. I have a lot to explore yet. Our living room is small, so this is the best size. I highly recommend.
