So far so good
Great value for the money. The design is very nice and the quality of the picture is much better than the older version of the fire stick.

Ridiculous
I was duped into thinking this was the newest, fastest and best Firestick to date with fancy advertising, a great deal and a chance to return my older fire sticks for a nice Amazon credit. It is HD not 4k. I was going to replace my 4k max with this, but I’m not. Angrily returned and feeling deceived.

Did Amazon design this for dollhouse TVs?
So I upgraded my Fire TV Stick, and while the device itself works fine… can we talk about this power cord situation? In the photo, the long cord is from my original Fire Stick. The tiny little noodle on the right? That’s what comes with the new one. I’m sorry but who exactly are we designing for here? People whose outlets are directly emotionally attached to their TVs?Unless your outlet is hiding behind your TV like it’s playing hide-and-seek, this cord is not going to cut it. Most of us have TVs on stands, mounted on walls, or…wild concept….placed more than 12 inches from an outlet. This means you’ll either need an extension cord or go digging through your drawer of “random cables I might need someday.”The Fire Stick itself? Totally fine. Does what it’s supposed to do.The cord? Feels like it skipped leg day. Hard.

Check The Specs
I naturally thought the new Fire Stick, which was being heavily promoted by Amazon, would be the greatest and really didn’t do much research. My fault. If you own any Fire Stick 4K this is a downgrade in picture and audio quality. Also very disappointed with the Amazon Music app on this Stick. No Dolby Atmos and no way to see audio quality now playing and available such as SD/HD/Ultra HD/Atmos.

It’s called Fire because you’ll want to set fire to it after 5 minutes of using it.
Terrible design all around from the remote to the software. I “upgraded” from the old version – this one is no faster. In many ways it feels worse. Also had to reinstall all my apps again and it won’t let me delete the crappy ones it auto installs.

Plex Live TV does not work
Was excited to try this new fire stick. The interface is totally redone and even more impressive, the apps are updated with new UI. Everything seemed faster till I installed Plex which is mostly what we use. The new interface is interesting, not sure it’s better but I’d try it. Problem is live TV does not work at all which is a deal breaker. Tried to get support but the site is not up, weird. Anyway, back it goes. FYI, Plex works fine on my older fire stick.
