Neat simplified stabilizer optimized for portrait/landscape shooting simplicity.
Very neat stabilizer that is single axis and works really well for selfie and tripod/follow shooting and works great in portrait or landscape modes. Like some of the other Aochuan stabilizers it has the quick pop-out tripod and extending rod, and with a pitch angle adjustment it works extremely well for self shooting or using it on it’s tripod with AI follow for a very natural and stable look while being able to move naturally in a setting, and even have it pan along with you as you move or circle it. Along with this functionality it has a nested light and nested remote that can detach for ease of control when suited.The build is excellent and consistent with other Aochuan products, with very solid construction that are photography grade parts with no flaws to be found like flow lines, injection marks, shrink, or rough edges. The telescoping pole has a great feel that is rock solid and holds position until you need to adjust or pack it. Filming with an AI assistant seems like a bit of magic and is a great upgrade to stationary shots and really makes the impression that you have someone shooting to keep you held as the subject in frame.To clarify this is single axis and can rotate 360 degress and isn’t meant to be a full XYZ axis stabilizer. I actually like the simplified shooting quality that isn’t overly slick and floaty feeling the way that full stabilization can sometimes look. If just as a simple travel tripod it’s really neat to have because it is so compact with all of the added functionality of what it can do mechanically and what the app can do. Pairing is simple and prompts the Aochuan app, and many of their products all function using the same app. I was recently at a family dinner without this and I literally balanced my phone on a cooler, and used the phone’s timer while running back and forth for a few shots. It’s really silly to think about when this stabilizer would’ve been a perfect photo assistant using AI or just simply having the remote hidden in my hand. Really cool stuff at a reasonable price for it’s functionality.
