Great Professional Budget Mic for DSLR & Smart Phones!
As for many of you content creators already know that a video with no good sound quality can be a bit boring and not fun to watch But with this Comica CVM-VM10II is a great shotgun microphone that works really well with either your DSLR Camera or your smart phone, will help improve your video audio/voice quality and make your videos sound more professional and fun to watch. It has a great crisp sound quality and does a great job at canceling out unwanted noise in the background and especially with the wind blocker(dead cat) it makes a big difference if shooting outside in a strong wind. It is a great mic for vlog, close up interviews or even for a studio set up. I’m going to have to be honest, I found more Pro’s than Con’s for this Comica CVM-VM10II mic..Pros:1. Ability to have a stereo to smartphone cord and a stereo to a camera cord.2. An audio jack splicer to use it which to compare with a Rode mic, it doesn’t include but the Comica CVM-VM10 does.3. Powered on by the Device. It Automatically powers up once connected on a DSLR camera or a smart phone. This is really helpful not worrying about switching batteries or even charging the mic.4. It is small and light weight for those of you who like to vlog and not carrying around a big mic.5. Both for smart phone and DSLRCons:1. Honestly I could not find any cons on this mic. I loved everything on it.I highly recommend this VideoMic to anyone looking for great Audio on a budget without breaking the bank. Great shotgun mic for the price.
I’ve used this mic with my Canon T7I and my iPhone X for a few days and man, am I blown away! You do get a lot for money. It’s a front facing cardioid pattern shotgun mic. A cardioid mic is heart shaped and is great for picking up sound right in front of it. Background noise is reduced and speech and vocals really do pick up very well with a this mic – as long as you or the subject is in front of it. If you are a blogger, this would be great as it reduces some of the background noises. I’ve had no problems with interference with my phone and camera. If I had more equipment, I would have tested it on them. But as far as my iPhone X and my T7I, it sounds great. It comes with its own shock mount. The mount, I have to say feels little toy-like. Like it’s going to break if you handle it roughly. Other than that, the mount does its job. The case it comes with works great and really protects the mic. The mic itself is well built (all metal) and feels good in the hands. The included windscreen and wind muff (dead cat) does what it’s supposed to do. The windscreen is great for indoor shots and it really eliminates the pops from “P’s” and “B’s”. The wind muff works well in low wind, but in very high winds, you can still pick up the wind noise (this also applies to some of the expensive mics/wind muffs too.) It comes with both a 3.5mm cable for your smartphone and for your traditional camera/camcorder like my Canon T7i. The only real gripe I have is, it has no power source of its own (no batteries). So it draws power from you camera or phone. Which is good and bad. It’s good because you don’t have to carry extra batteries around and reduces the weight of your whole set up. It’s bad because your camera/phone loses battery power just a bit quicker. Lastly, I really love how small this mic is. Again, for the money, you get a lot.

Great for Recording a Trumpet Outdoors
Had been considering a shotgun mic for our GoPro to do some outdoor recording of our son playing a trumpet solo for a class assignment. He normally used a Sure SM57 in his home studio, but that mic is not easily adapted to a GoPro. After looking at various compact shotgun mic’s such as the Sure VP83 ($180), the Rode Videomic ($150), and the Sennheiser MKE 400 ($165), we decided to give the Comica CVM-VM10II ($40) a try first.The mic comes with 2 cables. One is for connecting to a camera, and the other is for connecting to a phone, although many phones are no longer available with a round jack. The camera cable was perfect to adapt to the GoPro Hero 8 with the Media Mod, which is necessary in order to connect to the GoPro. The cold-shoe mount on the isolater works great. No batteries are required, as this is a passive mic.We recorded a session in a parking lot on the outskirts of town. Someone started a motorcycle and rode out of the lot behind me about 1 minute into the first recording. I thought that we would need another take, but was delighted to find that the Comica’s supercardioid function effectively omitted the motorcycle, while picking up the character of the instrument. Although we did another take, it was not necessary. The sound quality is very good, and the mic does a great job of capturing the trumpet’s dynamic range. The Comica CVM-VM10II is a very good product at an excellent price – highly recommend!

Seems solid, sounds decent.
Very small, working well for me for interviews – I’m using it with the Comica mixer/amplifier. It does need to be amplified. If they made an amplified version of this mic I would try it. The amplified Comica mic I got is all light weight plastic and seem flimsy. This mic has a metal body and seems pretty solid. Sound quality is not much different than the plastic mic though. Decent, not great. Usable though. So for not much $$ you can get a pretty big step up over the built in camera mic.

Awesome microphone, for $29, it’s a very good microphone, very good build quality, and great microphone audio, if you’re looking for a cheap reliable microphone, this is the one, one thing i have to say is the cables that come in the box is one cable for a phone, and one for a camera, if you’re interviewing someone and need the mic by you, buy a longer cable for the microphone, but other than that, it is a great microphone at a great price, 5 stars!

I’ve heard about the Comica CVM-VM10II before and have watched the videos online about it. I was still skeptical. But once I opened the package and felt the quality of the materials used in the construction of the microphone, I was immediately impressed.The microphone feels robust and solid. The shock mount is sturdy and made from high quality, dense plastic. I like that it also includes the foam windscreen and the furry windscreen, not to mention the two types of cables to connect to either a camera or smartphone.The microphone’s performance was beyond expectations. I used it both indoors and outdoors and the sound was awesome. Plus, the furry windscreen completely blocked all the wind noise while filming at the beach on a windy day.Like I said, it’s a surprisingly great microphone that I highly recommend.
