Just buy the DJI Mini 5 Pro. You won’t be sorry.I am giving the product a 5 star even though I had to return it. The camera Gimbal failed the first day. But, I liked it so much I ordered another one. Fly it pretty much out of the box after charging batteries and a quick operator run thru. If you do your research, DJI is one of the top Drone manufactures out their. Don’t fall into the “I can get soemthing cheaper” mindset. For the money it is the best. This is probably going to be a fairly long term buy, don’t be cheap.Before I did my full due diligent research, I ordered two DJI lesser models. I canceled those right away after I realized they did not have Omni-Directional avoidance features, just forward, backward, up & down. Spend the extra and get the mini 5 Pro. Also get the mid-price combo kit. It’s a better value. You get 3 of the higher performance batteries for longer fly time, extra propellers, camera lens filters, etc.Also, after the Gimbal failed & I googled around to try to fixed it myself (all soft fixes, no invasive hardware fixes) I decided to buy a Gimbal Protector for my re-order. Some say don’t, but for a few bucks I thought I would try one. It doesnt seem to affect performance.Like I said, This thing is Out of th Box ready to fly. Easy, easy, easy to fly. Lots of features others don’t have. Beautiful videos & Photos.I reccomend Youtube: “DJI Mini 5 Pro Beginner’s Guide & Best Settings” by MountMedia. Step by step insttructions. Thourough and easy to understand. Still learning but I absolutely love it!You still need to get registered, even as a “for fun” user & register your drone. Go to FAA’s DroneZone website for info.

So I’ve been eyeing this since last year finally cracked and told the wife I’m getting one I’m done waiting. placed the order. Was so scared this would come and be the 4 pro not the 5 but shockingly it was the right drone. I mean it was the same price for either so I wasn’t going to be that mad but still. If you or anyone you know want this drone before thiers no stock left in the US do it don’t wait to much longer. The bag that came with it was okay but in my opinion not great for much unless you are going to be traveling around the world taking it with you and still I prefer the bag I got on the side witch let’s me take everything I could want with it. Can’t say anything about how it flys yet I will up date this review after about 6 months in but so far I’m just happy it came and is exactly what I ordered. the product seems to be well made and they put so much effort in to the quality and design of it. I mean it feels like it’s made of very durable and high quality plastic. I know you think at this price metal would be better but keep in mind metal is heavier and more pricey. I definitely like how easy it was to get it set up but it does have a few thing I would keep in mind. It’s a signed package so make sure you are home and ready for the required signature. Second do not open the box and expect to just throw the battery in and fly it in 10 minutes. This took an hour to get set up. it has updates the battery need to be charged to full before the first flight now with that being said you can use the batterys to update it from the box and charge the separate ones so you could go fly after unboxing but don’t just plan on running out and flying. Third thing is remember you have to take the trust test to fly in the USA and Remember you need LAANC and FAA clearance and permissions to fly in restricted zones this drone will lock you out untill you provide this information to dji and have updated the remote to let you fly only on the rc-2 not the non screened remote. !!!ATTENTION!!! THIS IS NOT A TOY. This is a peace of high end equipment that requires you to follow the law. You will end up with cops call you or showing up to your door if you do not follow the law. With that being stated this is a great drone from what I have been able to see so far but this isn’t something I would just hand to a beginner and say have fun go do what you want. the smart controller has a sim to practice and I plane on getting hours of flight time in the controller sim before I take this thing out for its first flight. so I can get use to the control and how this thing works. But all that aside if you have been wanting one and have the money do it and spend the money for the combo and don’t say you will upgrade later. if it’s still for sale and the 1100 mark get it it’s worth every penny.

Mini 5 Pro finally in the US!
Mini 5 Pro finally available in the US! Ordered a Mini 5 Pro Fly More kit about a month after official release the day they popped up for Prime shipping at MSRP through Amazon and I am happy to report I received exactly what I expected. Item was brand new, shrink wrapped, and activated perfectly. It is doubtful that you will get a warranty, so I would recommend adding the accidental damage warranty to be safe. Drone flys great and has a ton of nice features that most know about. Some hidden features I didn’t see that much talked about, the drone can stay in sleep mode for 12 hours after a flight using minimal battery for you to connect your phone and download images and videos without having to even remove it from your bag. Transfer speeds are also much faster than my Mini 3. The dynamic range for videos is fantastic for a mini drone, but keep ISO set to Auto to get the benefit of whatever computation it is doing to merge exposures. The RC2 controller is such a better controller than the one where you use your screen, and is easily worth the cost difference. Battery charger can do parallel charging now. The drone charges a battery much faster when plugging directly into the rear of the drone. I saw almost 40W at one point.How they managed to get all of these features in a palm size drone is very impressive. If you have not flown a drone before, I would watch some beginner videos before you fly to understand, and then be smart when flying. The object avoidance is not magic.

Everything was delivered as described! Nice unit. Camera is awesome. Lots of great features. Very good for the beginner user. Obstacle avoidance sensors do a great job IF you have the right settings and mode on.

I have owned several Dji drones and the mini 5 is at the top of the list in capability. Great camera sensor and steady flights with great battery life. I have so much fun with this thing that I purchased additional batteries to prolong the fun. Video quality is amazing and the onboard sensors make it difficult to crash this thing -unless you’re in sport mode

This little dynamo is simply incredible. My first DJI drone was the Mavic Air, back in 2020. This mini 5 Pro is light years ahead from my reliable but antiquated Mavic Air. I appreciate the RC2, no more connecting a phone or tablet to the RC! One less step to get you flying ASAP. The signal strength is amazingly strong, creating a sense of complete control, which is very reassuring. Very stable connection, very stable in the wind with a great camera. What more can you ask for? I am very happy with this purchase and would do it again without hesitation. Of course the fly more combo is the cherry on the sundae!

This is my first drone ever. It was easy to get started. Always go for fly more combo since you can’t do much with a single battery (specially if theres strong wind). Camera quality is amazing and drone seems to hold up well against really strong wind.
