Easy installation, easy setup, and BEAUTIFUL!
I am very satisfied with the performance of these 6-inch recessed lights. The installation was straightforward was completed without any trouble. Now, to be fair I have a bit of an electrical background so if you are not comfortable with adding to a home electrical circuit – or cutting holes in your ceiling – you’ll want to call in a professional. We have a lot of GOVEE products in our home and these did not disappoint either. The GOVEE Mobile app is very easy to use once you try it out for a few minutes. When you need regular ceiling lighting, you can select any color temperature (Warm-white to Daylight) and brightness level. Then when you want to spice things up – you can select from countless static colors and patterns. The added bonus of the color rings around the outside of the light brings added fun to the patterns as they can operate independently of the main light itself.GOVEE builds a solid product at an affordable price. I would certainly recommend this manufacturer.

Very happy with lights, easy to install and great control options
I am really happy with these, the installation was very easy and the instructions were clear. The connecting was easy enough and the preprogrammed setting options are numerous and tons of fun. Linking all four lights up in a group has been fun and seeing colored pictures dance to the lights is amusing. They are only dimmable on the phone because they use a 120/24V transformer. They come with a cutout template and there is a bit of give when cutting the hole for the light. The brightness and color range is great, I am renovating my basement and there is a work setting where they are like spotlights making everything clear and colors for party mode.I am giving 5 stars because these are really cool devices for a honestly super fair price. If I could give any feedback to Govee it would be to keep some memory in the lights so they retain their last setting, when you hit the light switch they reset and you need to set them back up on your phone.

These lights are great! Will buy more
We put these up in our kitchen. They are able to be synced together or you can control a single light. endless lighting possibilities! I really like being able to have these on a schedule to slowly brighten up in the morning, or serve as a nightlight. Installation took about 5 minutes per light and that included removing the old light housing since these are canless.

Big Customization, Small App Struggles
These Govee 6” recessed lights are highly customizable. I love being able to change the brightness and warmth, and the RGB options give my cabinets a totally different look.Install was easy and all hardware was included, but they are hardwired—so power must be shut off at the breaker. Attic access definitely helps since you have to remove the old light and wire these in.The only downside is the app. It works, but it’s not very intuitive, especially when trying to light just the outer ring instead of the whole fixture.Overall, great lights once you get them set up.Would give them 5 stars for sure if the app was easier to work with.

Excellent smart recessed lights — replaced my entire house
I replaced all of the recessed lighting in my house with these and couldn’t be happier with the result. Installation was straightforward, the lights fit standard 6-inch cans perfectly, and the build quality feels solid. The brightness and color quality are excellent, whether using warm white for everyday lighting or RGB for scenes and accent lighting. Matter support and smart integrations work reliably, and the Govee app makes it easy to group rooms, set schedules, and create scenes. They respond quickly, stay in sync, and have been rock solid across the entire house. If you’re looking to upgrade existing recessed lights or doing a full-home refresh, these are absolutely worth it.

Great Lights
Great option if you hate harsh overhead light. Easy to install, as along as you know how to wire lights and some “handyman” skills.

Turned My Boring Ceiling Into a Whole Vibe
These smart recessed lights completely changed the feel of my room and the color options are endless. I swapped out the old builder grade cans that came with the house and now I have full control over the ambiance. Want warm white for a relaxed evening? Done. Want to go full RGB and turn the room into a party? Also done. The flexibility is unreal. The app control works smoothly and gives you access to millions of colors plus different white temperatures. You can dial in exactly the mood you want and save scenes for quick access later. Movie night, gaming, working from home, whatever the situation calls for. One tap and the lighting matches.Brightness is impressive too. These are not dim novelty lights that barely illuminate the room. When you need actual light to see what you are doing, they deliver. Crank them up to full brightness in cool white and you have serious functional lighting. Then dial it back to a warm dim glow when you want to relax.Installation was straightforward if you are comfortable with basic electrical work. Turn off the breaker, remove the old cans, wire up the new ones, and mount them in the existing holes. The six inch size fits standard recessed openings so you are not dealing with adapter rings or modification.Voice control through smart assistants works as expected. I have them linked up and can control everything without touching my phone. Turn lights on and off, change colors, adjust brightness. All hands free. Convenient when you are already settled on the couch and do not want to get up.The color accuracy is solid and transitions between colors are smooth. No flickering, no weird jumps between shades. It flows naturally which matters when you are using color changing effects or slowly transitioning through a scene. Cheap lights struggle with this but these handle it well.If you want to upgrade your lighting game and add smart functionality to your ceiling, these are the move. They look clean, work reliably, and open up a world of customization that standard lights cannot touch.

Fit 4 inch holes for previous pot lights, easy to wire, most of all are the effects from suttle to wild, and the amity to light just the outside ring or the middle light.

These are the best recessed light. Few lights had wifi connection issues but after power reset it worked.

Note de 100 %, merci !

As others have reported, these pot lights exhibit poor Matter implementation, particularly when integrated with Apple Home. Device states frequently fall out of sync, indicating unreliable communication or status reporting. The outer ring functionality is especially problematic where its activation via color temperature or preset swatches is inconsistent and lacks deterministic behavior, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. This makes creating scenes more difficult in Apple Home as you never know what the lights are going to do. Two of them side by side, same settings, color/brightness, and for whatever reason when the automation is triggered one will be a different color, have the ring on, or be at a different brightness.Brightness control is also significantly degraded outside of the native Govee app, meaning you won’t even get the full lumen output, suggesting limited or improperly mapped parameter exposure through Matter. Additionally, colour reproduction appears inaccurate, with noticeable inconsistencies in color profiles, an issue I’ve also encountered with Govee chandelier bulbs. They seem to struggle through Matter to represent those warm colours.Overall, the Matter integration feels incomplete and unreliable, making these lights difficult to recommend for any setup that depends on stable cross platform control, for example trying to use a simple IKEA motion sensor or button to control these.
