Sounds good and my wife likes the way it looks!
Not cheap, but a great sounding speaker for the size. Of course, you’re not going to get a stereo image out of a single speaker, but it sounds good for what it is. We have it on the counter in our kitchen, and I use it while cooking and eating. More than powerful enough to be heard over the super loud downdraft exhaust fan on our stove when cooking. I’m a recording/mixing/mastering engineer, so I’m picky about sound. Sure, this is not as good sounding as my studio monitors, but it serves its purpose and is much less expensive and smaller than my studio monitors.I’m using primarily Amazon Music which it has built-in support for (among several other services), and there are no issues with that for the most part. Once in a while I have to login again to my Amazon account. Or, on rare occasions, this speaker gets disconnected from the network, but is easily fixed by simply unplugging and plugging in again. It does have a wired ethernet connection if you want a more reliable network connection, but I didn’t have an ethernet port nearby and the wifi signal where the speaker is located is not great.The main reason I got this type of speaker is that it streams directly from the services via WiFi, as opposed to a cheaper Bluetooth only speaker that would use the lower quality Bluetooth audio format. So, with Amazon Music HD, you can get at least CD quality, lossless audio, which is important to me. You can set it up for Alexa to use voice commands to start streaming from Amazon music, or you can use the Amazon Music App on your phone to connect to the speaker and stream in HD (as opposed to Bluetooth), as the speaker will still do the streaming itself and the phone is just the interface. The JBL One app is nice for setting this up and for control volume and such, but it misses out on some features of the Amazon music app, such as the ability to shuffle a playlist.

Best, home assistant speaker.
I purchased my first home assistant speaker about 8 years ago and I’ve owned a few since then. This speaker is by far the best home speaker I have ever owned. The sound quality is wonderful. I’m so happy that it has both Google assistant and Alexa built into it. I think more manufacturers of home speakers should do the same. I like the retro styling and the build quality of the speaker is excellent. The only downside I can think of is the price point. I think it’s kind of an expensive speaker but you do get a lot for what you pay for in this speaker. I’m glad that there’s an Ethernet port because ethernet is faster than Wi-Fi. It also has a USB type-c port for connecting MP3 players. This speaker also comes with all the cables needed, like a USB type-c to USB type-c cable and a 3.5 cable. It also comes with a ethernet cable.For clarification, the JBL authentics 200 is a 90 w speaker. I know Amazon indicates that it’s a 200 w speaker but this is not correct. The JBL authentics 300 is a 100 w speaker and the JBL authentics 500 is a 270 w speaker.

Incredible sound
This speaker is amazing. Set up and quality are outstanding. Two setup in stereo is even better. Price is steep but I got both of mine at $199. I have it connected to Amazon Music, Pandora, and music on my NAS. No issues yet.

I compared the 200 and 300…
I needed a high-quality speaker with WiFi and did a lot of research online before purchasing the Authentics 300. But I was disappointed. I listen to a wide variety of music and found the treble and midrange of the 300 had an unpleasant edge for classical and jazz, although it worked well with rock, pop and electronic music. I then did a deep dive with comparison videos between the 200 and 300, and it seemed the 200 was a bit better balanced so I purchased that to compare.Well, in fact, the 200 IS better balanced. While there’s slightly less bass, it’s a really pleasant and more natural-sounding speaker to listen to for a wide range of genres. The treble and midrange are on the warm side but a slight EQ adjustment in the app fixed that. Additionally, I didn’t plan on moving it around, so the battery and handle of the 300 were unnecessary. (I thought about trying the 500, but I didn’t want to take up that much space on my kitchen counter.)I’m really very happy with the 200. Sure, I wish the volume/treble/bass controls were a little more standard, but that’s not a big deal. Having WiFi makes a huge difference for me, so I can happily recommend the 200, especially for those whose tastes lean more to acoustic music.

Nice sound but having a hard time figuring out how to use it through the app. Id like to connect Spotify but it isnt showing as an option although the instructions list it as one…

A true high fidelity speaker.
One of the greatest speakers I’ve ever listened to. It’s well made, and a good size to fill any room with sound. Connecting the speaker is easy to do, but the quality of sound it produces as a single unit is beyond expectation.

JBL Authentics 200 with WiFi issue
It’s a great speaker and sounds wonderful. For me, the WiFi did not work and I had to to send the unit back.The technician at JBL mentioned that the moment button may have been the problem.Hopefully the new unit will work as expected. If so, I would give it 5 stars.

Purchased 2 on sale and use as a secondary system in the house in stereo mode. They are excellent! Great bass, mids and highs!After numerous models I have finally settled on this. The ease of use and superb sound quality as well as the retro look made the decision easy. Not cheap but well worth it if you appreciate sound quality above all. I did not want the battery model….I have others for portable use and the size is perfect.Having the wifi option was a dealer maker for me! Playback from Tidal in FLAC is much better than Bluetooth!If you are willing to spend the money, 2 in stereo mode is incredible…..don’t hesitate.

Tremendo equipo. Hay otras marcas también, pero dentro de las premium JBL AUTHENTICS 200 tiene un lugar. No hay nada que quede pendiente. Sonido, diseño, conectividad y, tomando en cuenta lo que vale un equipo de similar nivel con la competencia, me permito recomendarlo ampliamente.Me encanta el audio y tengo en casa bocinas activas Bosé, Marshall y Fender, y está compite sin ningún problema. Así que confianza. Cuando vean el precio en menos de 4000 pesos mexicanos, adelante, es el momento. He observado que por temporadas le suben más allá de esa cantidad. También he visto el equipo en tiendas departamentales, pero por mucho aquí en Amazon está la opción más económica.

The sound quality is good, but the main disappointment is smart feature. The speaker’s google assistant cannot play on Youtube Music or even Spotify. If I open YT music app, I still have the same problem. However, it’s not the case for Spotify. I can cast my music through Spotify.To overcome this limitation, I use my nest mini to start a music and then I open Google home app and change to JBL and it works. It’s not 100% hands-free. Probably if I pair the nest mini to the speaker, I can make it hands-free, but the only reason I purchased this speaker is not to use bluetooth. Anyway, it is what it is. I contacted the support team, but so far no result. I update this message if I found a workaround.Edit: The problem is fixed right now. I open JBL One and went to device settings and I’ve noticed there was an update available. It took me around 5 minutes to install it on the speaker and after it all the issues went away! I couldn’t even add Alexa before it.

I know that the larger models will usually have better “deep end” bass, but I’m pinched for space. So when this guy came up on sale I took a chance because there were just too many bad opinions on the Klipsch one no longer really being compatible with Google anymore (something about the software being too old?). Well hot damn!Moved my Nest speaker out of the way and finagled some pictures and a table lamp to squeeze this boy in, and just under 10mins after plugging him in I was up and running with a assistant, playing music, checking the weather and adjusting the equalizer in the app I downloaded from the Play Store.Saying it’s better than the Nest speaker doesn’t give this guy any justice.This feels like I have a SPEAKER in the living room again! It’s not just sound….its music again. And it’s going to be a conversation piece of anyone sees it in the corner cuz it looks GREAT.
