The
This is my first soundbar with dolby atmos. I used to have a Yamaha soundbar with i think 13 speakers. This soundbar is incredible! 5.1.3 breaks down like this…5 is the total speakers in a normal position. Left, right, center channel, and left and right surrounds. The 1 represents the subwoofer, and the 3 is the total up firing speakers on the soundbar. The wireless sub, and surrounds work flawlessly and sound great! I was missing 1 power cord which I promptly had a chat with lg and they have a power cord on its way within a couple days of me having the chat session with them.Great customer service, a great soundbar for the money, and goes great with my lg b4 oled tv!

East to set up.
I want to be clear up front, I hooked this to a LG TV. All I had to do was connect the HDMI cable to the TV and the soundbar paired to the TV automatically along with the TV settings all being set. That is all I had to do with the other speakers, plug them in and they paired to the soundbar also. The sound is great it makes watching TV a better experience. I would by this soundbar again.

If You Love Your iPhone Sound – Buy This System!!!
If you love the sound that comes out of your iPhone then this is the system for you. If know anything about sound quality then continue your search.I presently have a great 6:1 Logitech wired system that’s about 5 years old. I am tired of hearing my wife complain about the wires so, I decided to purchase this LG S80TR system. The website told me to “get ready for an unforgettable cinematic sound experience with this impressive 5.1.3-channel soundbar powered by Dolby Atmos”, and to prepare myself for an “immersive audio experience” that will “fill the room with pure acoustic bliss”.After 3 days, I AM STILL WAITING!!!Dolby Atmos is suppose to move sounds precisely in a 3D space for a more realistic experience. The only thing that moved was me to the remote to try every possible option to try and improve the awful sound that was emanating from these speakers. The subwoofer is twice the size of my present system, so I expected to experience a rumbling bass.On the full bass setting, it didn’t compare to my system.Last night, I reconnected my old wired system and did a side by side comparison for my wife (who thinks the tv sound is perfectly fine) and her first reaction was, “oh those sound terrible”, thinking it was my old system and when I told her she was listening to the new LG S80TR, she said , “I hope you are sending them back in the morning”Needless to say, this LG S80TR is already packed up and I’m headed out the door to return it to UPS.

It does the job – But Sony TV owners beware!!!
It’s a pretty decent system for a small apartment or kids / family room. The surround is quite impressive but I was skeptical of the wireless speakers staying paired. However I’m pleasantly surprised by the consistent connection (not a single incident of pairing issues). The bass is not powerful at all but if booming explosions while watching a movie is not quite your cup of tea, then you’ll be fine.Note: This system is a HUGE PAIN to connect to a Sony TV. It’s not the surround system but rather a software bug issue w/ Sony. I have both experienced and read of other instances where the HDMI ARC port on Sony TVs conflicts with the HDMI IN port on the soundbar when you connect another device to it (i.e. Roku, Blu-ray player, etc.) and causes the sound bar and the TVs internal speakers to “battle” each other, causing the sound to toggle between the 2 continuously – It drove me nuts!!! But I discovered a workaround where I just connected my other devices directly to the TV instead. This method still allows the sound from those devices to filter thru the soundbar. But it took a couple of hours to finally resolve the issue. So if you’re not looking for big Dolby Atmos sound, a near-movie theater experience, or you own anything other than a Sony TV, then I would recommend this system for you.

This thing does more than you think
The best soundbar I’ve ever owned it is seamless. Will take a little getting used to with the HDMI in and HDMI out but the pass-through is seamless again. I will use that word a lot in this review. The connectivity is seamless. I have both of my satellite speakers mounted on the wall in our living room and the surround sound is Rich and gives you that nice Cinema feel without the over-bearing wires. All I did was run the power source through the back of the wall with a an approved power system and it is is money well worth spend?

Causes significant interference and dropped connections with 5Ghz Wi-Fi
I own an LG OLED TV (OLED65B2AUA), and the LG soundbar set up very easily and auto-calibrated with the AI sound mode. Unfortunately, when I tried to test it out by streaming a movie, Netflix timed out. In fact, my entire home wifi was running extremely slowly and disconnecting entirely! Turning off the soundbar resolved the issue and I once again had fast Internet. I searched and found that this is a known issue- the soundbar uses the 5Ghz spectrum to communicate with the subwoofer and satellite speakers, which overlaps with the same 5Ghz band used for home wifi, causing interference.LG’s Support site even has an article addressing the issue, titled “Sound bar slowing down Wi-Fi”, where they recommend configuring the home router to use a different wifi channel and narrower radio band. My home 5Ghz wifi is configured to use channel 161 with bandwidth set to 80Mhz. I tried reconfiguring my router to use the other channels (36, 40, 44, 48, etc) but the issue remained. Reducing bandwidth to 20Mhz helped somewhat, but that came at the cost of slowing my Internet speed from 250Mbit to around 40Mbit, so was not a viable solution. Before purchasing this soundbar, make sure it won’t interfere with the wifi version that you use at home. It WILL interfere and slow down Wi-Fi in the 5Ghz range. If your router and all your devices use Wi-Fi 6E or higher, then you should be OK as long as you’re using the 6Ghz band.
