quick and painless to setup
I have a television in the kitchen that is mounted on an arm betweent the top of the sliding glass door and the ceiling. the “SMART” TV lost its’ smarts when their licensing deal ran out with Yahoo who was providing all the smart apps. I didn’t want to buy a new set to fit so the firestick looked like a good option. It works well and was very easy to install and get working

Can’t set it up due to remote not communicating with Fire Stick
I bought this refurbished Fire Stick on 10/25/2025. Today is the first opportunity I’ve had to use it. No matter what I’ve tried, I can’t get the remote to communicate with the Fire Stick, so I can’t proceed with the initial setup. I’ve tried using different batteries, resetting the remote, and pairing the remote. I’ve also tried unplugging the Fire Stick and starting over to no avail. I even tried using the Fire TV app on my phone, but that won’t communicate with it either. I own 2 other Fire Sticks, so I know how to set one up. Today is 11/26/2025 and I am 1 day past the return window. I’m not very happy.
