This low cost watch has many of the features in more expensive watches. It connects to your phone (in my case, an iPhone) and allows tracking of many health attributes. Although it does a lot, none of it is done exceptionally well. I’ll break it down into pro’s and con’s.The thing I like about the watch are: low cost; bright screen; has heart rate and blood oxygen monitor; allows user to change watch face; long battery life; fitness tracking; alarm and stopwatch; displays phone messages and notifications; controls phone functions.One of the biggest problem with the watch is the lack of multitasking. If you start the stopwatch, you cannot go back to see the date, you have to first exit the stopwatch. This applies to every function — no two, including telling time, can work at the same time. Any of my digital watches from the early 80’s could start the stopwatch, go to some other mode, and then return to the running stopwatch. In fact one of the problems was forgetting to turn off the stopwatch and then realizing it had been running for the last day or two. I’m not sure what would happen if I have the watch on a sporting activity like running and then I get a notification. Would it miss it?Intuitively, the watch is difficult to navigate. There’s no natural reason why functions are grouped the way they are. If the moon icon is activated, then clicking on the wrist icon starts a warning “Please turn off do n”. I have to keep clicking on the wrist icon to eventually see the whole message which is “Please turn off do not disturb” which is apparently what the moon icon meant. While the pulse ox and heartrate monitor seems accurate (when I compared using a dedicated monitoring device), I have yet to figure out how the graph works — somehow, it has data during the time that I wasn’t wearing the watch.Although there are over 170 different watch faces, there’s actually 6 pre-allocated faces available on the app, and one more slot that can be picked from the other 172. Even though that seems like a lot, it really isn’t. Many of them are color variants of a single design. Only 5 of the custom faces had the digital seconds and two of those used an almost impossible font. It would be nice if there was a way to design your own face, and not just the background picture.Overall, for the price, this is a remarkably capable watch. But the lack of software sophistication means I’ll only wear this when I need some specific feature.
