Solid All Around
Install was super easy, the app works well, it integrates with Home Assistant via SmartThings, though I haven’t gotten it to show up in HomeKit yet. Not really worried about that anyways since I turned off the WiFi function.The buttons feel good and not mushy, the fingerprint reader works how I expect it to about 90% of the time, and the one time I had an issue they were able to push a firmware update to the lock to resolve it. Otto in their support team worked with me on that.I would definitely buy it again.

Better than Yale in every way
We wanted to replace an old Yale smart lock left by the previous homeowner. I did a lot of research and eventually decided on the Tapo. Now that we’ve installed it, it’s shown itself to be superior to the Yale in every way!The biggest problem we had with the Yale was how it almost always jams the lock unless we press on the door. Part of the issue is how our door doesn’t latch perfectly; but the other part of it is how the Yale’s lock strength is not strong enough (which we read is a common problem for many other smart locks as well). The Tapo’s lock strengh is far superior and can auto lock itself without jamming for most of the time, which we appreciate.We also really love the physical tactile buttons instead of the touch screens of most other smart locks. They’re far easier to use.It’s also great that they offer back up physical key holes for emergencies, which is another main requirement of hours.So far the app is working super well; we’re very happy with the purchase and plan to buy another!

Works well. Able to set locking time so I can pick up a package before door locks. Works well in combination with Tapo doorbell camera. Easy installation. But wish it was made in white. Now have to change all the door hardware.

Great lock, you wouldn’t be disappointed. App on the lock is great. No issues to report. Been using it for a month now and love it. Will purchase more to add to the home.

Great budget keypad
Nice keypad and great price. My big complaint is that it doesn’t always on unlock on the first try and the fingerprint reader is extremely finicky. Otherwise, installation and setup was super easy, especially adding it to an existing Tapo account. FYI the battery takes quite a while to charge fully. Best to plug it in overnight.

Waaay better than brand locks 3-4x the cost. Easy to install and setup, all done in 15 minutes, longest part was the long first charge of the battery. Fingerprint sensor is strong.

Defective – Quick lock button unreliable.
Installed the smart door lock without any issues. I watched YouTube videos on the functionality and installation instructions and it was a breeze. No issues until after about a day the quick lock button on the keypad became unresponsive and worked only after many presses. The fingerprint sensor also because extremely unresponsive and unreliable. Connectivity was normal. Basically the smart lock became useless because every time you had to leave or enter the house you had to fight with it for about 5 minutes before eventually it locked/unlocked. Terrible experience.So I called customer support and they were quick and responsive to initiate a return authorization. However, the lock they were going to send me was not new or was refurbished. Not cool.After I realized I was under the 30 day Amazon return window I just returned the lock and got a new one with the expectation it would work as expected. I installed the new lock and this time everything seems to work perfectly well.I give it a one star because of the serious defect experience. However, the second lock I will give it 5 stars in a month and after I confirm its reliability.The instructions, app, design are perfect. I love the features when they work. It seems durable but I do not like how bulky the lock is on the inside of the door. It’s ridiculous. But I understand there is a tradeoff for having a high capacity battery. Wife thinks the size of the inside lock is ok so we are good.For reference the Tapo ticket ID is TKID260327467. I did not see anyone else having this issue which is giving me more confidence in keeping the new one.

Muy mala cerradura, al mes dejo de funcionar sin explicación. Hemos intentado de todo y no responde. No la pudimos devolver antes de los 30 días porque estábamos fuera de la ciudad en donde la instalamos. Las opciones de soporte son limitadas y además no hay manera de contactar a Amazon por soporte.
