Masterpiece!
Stunning Picture & Low Glare:The QD-Mini LED display is breathtaking. It delivers deep blacks, rich colors, and phenomenal contrast whether you are in a pitch-black room or a sun-drenched living area. The anti-reflective screen handles ambient light beautifully, resulting in very little glare (Attached image shows the glare from the recessed lighting but it does not affect viewing quality).Surprisingly Excellent Sound:Unlike most modern flat-screens, the built-in audio is genuinely impressive. Dialogue is crystal clear, and the bass has actual depth, so you won’t feel forced to buy a soundbar right away.Unbeatable Price & Value:This is easily one of my best Black Friday purchases. Factoring in the 10% Amazon Prime cashback, I snagged it for around $1,258 before tax. Even though the newer 9 series is already on the market, this model remains a home theater masterpiece and is an absolute must-buy to watch out for during Black Friday or Prime Day sales. This review is being posted after 100 days of use.Quick Tip – Eye Strain & Bias Lighting:The screen gets unbelievably bright out of the box, which might cause some initial eye strain. Simply dial back the brightness, blue light, and backlight settings to match your room. I highly recommend adding bias lighting (a simple LED strip placed directly on the back of the TV) to completely eliminate dark-room eye strain and make the on-screen contrast pop even more!

This is the TV!
Just Awesome! I have been a life long Samsung TV buyer but I did the research and this TV really delivers. I went back and forth with the QM7K and if you need to save $ that is probably a great option and has smaller sizes. However, I have an incredibly bright ro and the 5000 nits on this TV allow me to watch in the daytime even in movie mode without issues. Picture quality is amazing and while it’s not OLED it’s much cheaper than OLED and I don’t think it’s far off in the picture quality. TCL surprised me with the price, quality and functionality. I don’t notice that I’m missing anything or that it’s noticeably different from my Samsung interface which I loved- I love this as much. If you’re on the fence and especially if you find a sale- I’d snap this TV up!

I can’t say enough about this television
Our 65 inch 4K edge-lit UHD Samsung was overly dark during a lot of movies and television shows, and I knew I needed something with higher top end on the brightness scale. I did a ton of research on mini LED, quantum LED and OLED sets and went with this one because of the ability to handle bright rooms, large number of dimming areas to reduced blooming, the high refresh rate for handling motion, and the outstanding color response. If you read the high definition television forums around the Internet, this television gets high praise.I’ve had it running for a few weeks and a half and I’m absolutely in love with it. It does not have a matte screen, it is not reflective even when off. More importantly, the blacks are dark and bold, tje colors pop, there are no motion artifact or blooming, and it even has a decent sound. The Google TV interface is also very responsive and more intuitive than the Tizen interfaces of our Samsungs. My wife is currently watching the avatar movies and she’s sitting there mouth at quality of the picture. I highly recommend this television, especially when you can get it for under $1000 on sale. The task shows the new TCL on the right, and the 4K Samsung on the left.

Great TV buuuuuuuuut.
TV is great. Looks great, sounds great except for……..- The built in Hulu app is terrible. Menu is slow to respond. Audio/video do not sync. Some shows are out of sync more than others. All the other apps the audio/video sync perfectly. The issue is only with the Hulu app. TCL support is of no use as their suggestions would only relate if all audio/video regardless of app was out of sync. Since its just the Hulu app, I am stuck using a Roku box to run Hulu. Very disappointed in this.I’m still giving this 4 stars because I believe Hulu is being replaced w/Disney in the near future so hopefully this is a short lived issue. On a positive note, the picture is absolutely amazing, worth it just for the picture. But the audio quality coming from TV is great too. Great enough I don’t feel I need to look into a soundbar. It lacks bass but that should be expected.

Minileds, yeah right
Didn’t want to write a review unless I’ve used this Baby. Minileds are a shocker, great color, bright, no halo effect so far. Great size for a bedroom just tone the brightness down. The internal speakers are the best brand I’ve heard in all my past tvs( LG and Samsung). TCL really needs to improve the operating system: it’s really slow, sometimes it will freeze just choosing an app to play. For a Google TV it should be faster with cleaner responses. TCL has finally made an upper tier TV, and built for gaming a double plus. The remote feels like metal, sturdy easy to use, my wife wants her own. It’s a great TV my eyes are doing their best to adjust to newer visual technologies, especially 4k and HDR videos, WOW. So many different settings to choose from sound, video, screen quality, etc. Great TV

Mind blowing picture quality and deep blacks
Before getting this TV I had done some research into what Mini LED tv gives the best bang for your buck, this one competes with OLEDs no problem and has insane brightness! The blacks are deep and most of the time I think the TVs off are whenever there is a scene with a lot of darkness. It’s insane how crystal clear the quality is. The TV speakers are also pretty solid but I have it hooked up to a sound system. Google TV interface works well, it’s not laggy. I’m beyond impressed with the QM8K, watch some reviews on YouTube to really see a more detailed breakdown of how much of a powerhouse this thing is.
