Easy to install and super fun for the gamer in your life.
Bought these for our son for Christmas. He has a game room and hung these on his wall. Super easy to install. You can be creative in how you hang them. Very colorful and bright. If you are looking to ad some fun to your room these are the answer.

    Increases your home’s cool factor!
We are a fan of the Twinkly product line and decided to invest in the squares. We have this product outside on our covered porch. Love it! We have gotten a ton of compliments on it and it is super bright. Well worth the investment. We did buy two units complete to create this rather than additional panels. As an add bonus, we have a second master panel and two more panels to use elsewhere.

The pixels are just too big for it to be useful
I had a high expectation for this, based on all the marketing. However, this is a product that is interesting for 5 mins and then you start seeing its major flaws and just wish it was better. First, the light emitted by the pixels is sort of harsh and unrefined…it doesn’t look nice and diffused…and I think the bit depth of the colors might be very low…so there are actually not that many colors it can display. Next, the software is a slow and sometimes glitchy…the app freezes too often when you try to edit GIFs and hit “apply”. Next, and by far the biggest issue is that a lot of GIFs and stickers etc don’t translate well to pixel art on this device. And therein lies the biggest problem, which is the super low resolution. I get that pixelation is the point of this device, but these pixels are just too big and the overall size of each tile is too small. For example, imagine if each pixel was bigger than it currently is, then of course your eyes would tell you immediately the smaller size is better, even for pixel art. Basically, for good pixel art, you’d rather pixelate the image in software for display on a higher resolution device than be limited to a blotchy unrecognizable images on a super low rez device. So, that’s what you end of craving after having this for a day and downloading some GIFs (via the built in GIPHY integration in their app). You really see the need for more detail when displaying GIFs or any image with more than just simple shapes on this device. All the GIFs and pixel art you download look way better on the phone than they do on the Squares…99% of GIFs displayed on the Squares are completely unrecognizable. This makes the device a useless gimmick after you really start using it beyond the basic shapes and simple color shift animations. I think the only use where resolution doesn’t matter is simple colors or very simple pattern animations with basic shapes (the kind they have preloaded onto the device)…but those get old real fast.If the pixels were a quarter of the current size, then I think this would be a MUCH better product that can actually display pixel art that is recognizable. But at the current large pixel size, its just not useful and not worth it since you can’t really use it for most images or GIFs.

Fun product, but not really worth the asking price
I bought this LED Matrix Light kit to go with my PC Gaming room set up, because it supports syncing with Razor Chroma and SignalRGB lighting systems. Setting up the device panels was fairly simple enough even though I haven’t mounted the lights on my walls yet, the manual doesn’t really give any good guidance on how to do it. It just gives a paper blueprint that you’re supposed to use as a guide for drilling screws or hammering nails into the wall. The quality of the lights are… okay. They are very bright and vibrant but there is some noticeable color bleeding with dark and light colors are together. The biggest issue I have with the set is the use of animated gifs or even just large images in general. With the starter kit, if you set it up into a rectangle, you will get an image quality of 24 by 16, which isn’t very good for displaying images that look decipherable. This will require you to purchase more “extension kits” that need to be combined in order to support better looking images, and with each extension kit being around $100 a pop, it’s really hard to justify going all in on this product just for better looking pixel images. It also doesn’t help that the app software doesn’t have much functionality, other than premade images, a paint tool, the option to import from giphy or uploading your own gifs, which doesn’t matter much because 90% of the images you try to import onto the panels will look terrible unless you have many extra panels to make the image look clear.I’d say if you can find this product and the extension kit on a steep discount, or if you just have deep pockets, I’d say go for it, otherwise I would personally just recommend something like the Divoom Pixel 64 instead.

Won’t connect to the WiFi and it’s pretty boring without WiFi
This was a birthday present I bought myself so I could finally have some sort of “view” over my kitchen sink. Anyway, all my dreams of digital Starry Night while washing dishes is just another corpse on the pile of technological disappointments. It set up just fine, turned on and went together like it should. I was really pleased – at first – but then my iPhone wouldn’t add the device. After checking all the parameters and finding out we were within them, we tried my husband’s Android. Still didn’t work. The Twinkly troubleshooting was abysmally useless so I reached out to Amazon for some tech assistance only to be offered a refund or replacement. Without accessing the WiFi, this is just randomly colored squares on the wall and not the view I require. I’m taking the refund because I do not believe another unit would behave any differently. Such a massively huge disappointment.

Bought this for my 10 year old. We absolutely love it. The customization nature of the product involves a little bit of patience. However, the set up, which involves downloading an app and following basic instructions was a smooth process. Once we configured the panels the way we wanted, we were up and running and having fun with this product. The app is easy, responsive and intuitive. Looking forward to expanding our display by adding more panels in the future.

I was not sure about these, however once I bought one starter kit I needed to get more. The Twinkly Squares are a great addition to any ambient projects. I had fun putting them together and it was easy to use the app for DYI lighting. Will be getting more and adding to my collection when I can!!!

Something to note, if you build an array of 16 squares you will need to get another starter kit to support the next 16. This is a quality product that is great for kids or adults to create interesting, dynamic images for an office or play space.

I spent around $1000.00 on these squares and they only lasted 7 months… Out of 16 panels, only the master panel will work. But it’s glitching BIG TIME. and what can you do with 1 panel… NOTHING SPECIAL.. and I was really looking forward to using them for Christmas. Now it looks like that won’t happen unless I find another $1000 somewhere quick..😡😡😡👎👎
