Worth any drawbacks
Perfect for our bedroom when standing but the large round size can look giant when looking up at it from the bed. Fully illuminated the room well at full power with many dimming options. The top splash light is perfect as a faint light for when one of us goes to bed before the other and there other waves to make sure they don’t step on anything getting ready for sleep. A bit hard to install just due to size and us not having a preexisting wiring point, but worth the one time headache. I wouldn’t plan on installing solo.

Not cheap but fantastic
Not cheap but a fantastic light. This is a fantastically powerful alternative to a fluorescent light. Control color temperature as well as the color of the lamp shows up as two zones so you have an up light and a down light works great in Apple Home because it’s the hue system. My only criticism is it’s not cheap so you have to make the investment in wanting something much nicer than a fluorescent or rewiring for traditional downlights

It’s an Excellent light
I’m very impressed. I have Lutron dimmer switches that do not work with this light. All they control is the ability to switch it “on and off” I also use Apple Home and I believe I need to buy and additional bridge to make it fully compatible.

May require you to drill a couple of small holes in the ceiling.
Nice light, it’s really 2 lights – top light and bottom light. If you use this with Alexia you will have to say Alexia turn on bottom or top light. The same when changing colors. The colors are nice. The one thing I dislike about this light is that it is not designed to mount to your jbox where the old light was- you have to drill the ceiling and install plugs. I know it’s not hard but when you remove this light to install your next light you may need to repair the Ceiling.

Looks great and works perfectly with phillips hue hub
Looks great and produces great lighting for my kitchen. If you are going to install yourself just be prepared to do some heavy lifting I did not expect it to be so heavy.

Perfect delivery
Haven’t tried it as yet but came in perfect condition. The small is pretty big and the large is massive.I got both.Don’t get the large for a medium sized bathroom.

How to lose your apt deposit 101
I love the reviews saying “you may need a few small holes in your ceiling”.I’ve installed hundreds of light fixtures on ships, up to 440/600 VAC (depending on where it was built). Tens of residential ones. I love Phillips hue, and yeah, it’s on me that I didn’t really, really check the specifications, but it’s misleading. I think the backplate *mounting* is very poorly designed in general. There’s some tricks they could have done. But alas, here we are.Overall quality? Superb. The guts are luxurious. Everything about it screams quality. But oh boy. It failed on the “easily installed” promise. Let’s go over what you need to know of you don’t own your structure. Most light fixturess mount on the junction box. Directly. You screw ’em in, great. Your backup option is that some lights have you drill into the drywall. They’re not heavy, it’s fast, and it works great. When the Amazon delivery guy grunted handing this to me, and I grunted getting it at an awkward angle, I already knew. The manual doesn’t say it. Google sources say 13 lbs. Drywall ain’t gonna cut it.I hope my screenshots help. You have to drill it into joists. The screwdriver made me chuckle. No, this needs support. It’s a biggun.I’m not even swapping it for the little one. Same woodscrew pattern. Some Googling suggests it’s 8 lbs. That’s still flippin’ heavy.I wish they were more upfront about this. If I was at the ol Home Despot, I’d look at this one or the smaller one and go “nah” in one second. Glad Amazon has a generous return policy. Wish they were more transparent on how this sucker is mounted. My review is for my fellow leasers without equity. If you’re a housie, check out the other reviews and electricians lamenting this thing on Reddit. It looks like it would have been AWESOME. Id probably be in the chorus of 5 stars. Oh well.Again. The way this is mounted/installed is pretty significant and should not be downplayed. It’s easy after the backplate, but it’s not just “two small holes”, you gotta find a joist lest you or the family dog becomes an RGB pancake. Please like this review if I helped you.

Easy to install
The hardware to install this light is nice. It’s pretty simple for one person to do it alone.I wish it wasn’t so expensive, had a higher CRI, and that was brighter at low color temperatures. Otherwise it’s great.
