One of my favorite gifts that I am so excited about is our new smart home security items from @ecobee! We are always buying and trying the latest and greatest tech gadgets, so we knew we wanted to try the @ecobee products when we first saw them. I am also a bit of a worry wart so im hoping this will ease my mind both when we are home and away. The bundle my husband purchased includes the smart camera with voice control, window and door sensors as well as temperature sensors. After getting everything set up I can say I am really impressed with the app and its ease of use as well as the smart camera. It has a window mode feature which removes glare and allows you to see through glass with a 180’ lens. Now the @ecobeethermostat is next on our list to buy!

We love our ecobee home security bundle! The camera and sensors were easy to set up and using the app is even easier! The camera is clear and the wide field of view allows us to see multiple entries to our home in one shot. Panning and zooming is just like zooming into a picture on your phone. The ecobee camera is compatible with Apple HomeKit and allows you to integrate with all your other smart devices!

I didn’t even need tech support to help me set up this camera. Just plug it in and enjoy the amazing picture quality with motion detection.

Camera has great quality and sound. I love the siren feature that you can set off in the app. It also has a great panoramic view which is great in our living room layout. I’m able to talk to my kids through the camera when I’m upstairs and they’re downstairs!!

Love Ecobee, But This Misses the Mark
I’m a fan of Ecobee in general, but I can’t recommend this camera or the smart sensors. The camera frequently stopped responding, which defeats the whole purpose of a security camera.As a HomeKit user, I was also disappointed that the sensors don’t show up in a useful way—they feel like an afterthought. Ecobee seems half-committed to the HomeKit ecosystem, which leads to a frustrating user experience.Great brand overall, but for cameras and sensors, I’d look elsewhere.

Great for keeping the kids safe
I have two young kids who love to live a little wrecklessly, so the camera and door sensors are awesome for keeping an eye on them when they’re out of my view. We have a playroom that has an exterior door and is on the opposite end of the house from our kitchen/bathroom area. So, it’s nice to be able to check in on them with the camera if it’s a little too noise or a little TOO quiet. We use this with our Apple Home app and it’s great! So we can control lights, temperature, cameras and door/motion sensors all in one place though we use different brands for our thermostat and lights.

Garbage product
This thing is trash. It works for 5 seconds then freezes and the audio cuts out. When the audio does work, it starts on full blast so it’s obnoxiously loud for the 5 seconds that it works. The zoom is slow to act, just buy anything else.
