Ring Level Performance Without the Monthly Fee. The Doorbell Camera That Finally Gets It Right!
If you’re shopping for a video doorbell that can go toe to toe with the big names but without locking you into a monthly subscription then this one is a total win. I’ve used a certain popular brand for years and honestly this camera rivals it in all the right ways. It even beats it where it matters most with “no subscription required”. Honestly, that alone sold me. Everything works right out of the box with a one time purchase and the included base station with local storage means your footage stays private, with you and accessible without extra fees hanging over your head. The video quality is seriously impressive. The 5MP Super HD resolution with a 3:4 aspect ratio gives you that full head to toe view of visitors and a clear look at packages on the ground, which is something I didn’t realize I needed until I had it. The wide 165 degree field of view captures everything at the door and the dynamic range keeps details visible even in tricky lighting. Alerts are actually useful, too! The AI human detection cuts out all the random motion notifications from cars, animals and blowing leaves which used to be annoying during the fall season here. When someone rings the bell, a live video call pops up on your phone and the two-way audio is clear enough to have a real conversation from anywhere. Just amazing in its well thought through usability design.Setup was straightforward and flexible. You can run it on battery (included) for easy installation or wire it in for constant power, which is what I did because I was replacing a wired unit. It connects to both 2.4 and 5 GHz networks, so streaming has been smooth and reliable, and the weather resistant build has handled everything so far as weare in the height of snow season. The included base station ensures you hear the chime in the house and the local storage (with expandable microSD support) is a huge plus for privacy and the ability to control your own data.Overall, this is one of those rare smart home devices that delivers premium features without the premium subscription. If you want a doorbell cam that competes with and in some ways surpasses the big subscription based brands, then the CIVIO doorbell camera absolutely deserves a spot at your front door.

Ding dong Ring gone
Definitely a winner so far… Battery and wired. Wedge and mounting hardware…no subscription..has micro sd included and a chime. Maybe I’m not part of the ring network..And there’s a little delay..but who cares this has very good recording, motion sensor and audio..App was easy.. recommended

Excellent on paper but horribly executed…
First of I want to say that the camera quality was excellent and the hardware was great on paper but the app is what I had issues with either that or the receiver box. I wanted to test it out before I went ahead and screwed it on my door but I’m glad I did because the live view was extremely laggy and didn’t work at all. I made sure it wasn’t my wifi I have above average speeds and it still didn’t want to display the live view normally. I really wanted to like this doorbell cam I was hesitant since it’s a new company and there were no reviews when I purchased it but I have had nothing but issues with the app/receiver and I really tried to get it to display correctly but it was just super delayed that I gave up and returned it. It really should be plug in/play and unfortunately it wasn’t. This company has a lot of potential and it has everything most people want. Sd card slot up to 512gb, no subscriptions, excellent camera quality, the design is nice as a plus but it was just so laggy. Hopefully they’ll improve it and get better at it but for the time being I can’t recommend it I’ll just keep looking for another doorbell cam.

Challenging Initial Wireless Pairing, but Excellent Performance and Clarity
The setup process for the CYVIO R112 5MP Video Doorbell was straightforward in most respects, though I did encounter one specific hurdle: establishing the initial wireless connection between the doorbell unit itself and the base station. It required several attempts to get them to properly “handshake” and pair wirelessly, which was initially frustrating as it wasn’t as plug-and-play as the instructions implied. However, once that wireless link was finally established, the system has performed flawlessly. The installation of the app was a breeze, and the interface is actually quite fabulous—very intuitive and responsive compared to other security apps I’ve used. The picture quality is a major highlight; the 5MP resolution is noticeably sharper than the 1080p cameras I’ve used in the past, and the 3:4 aspect ratio really does make a difference for seeing packages left on the doorstep. I appreciate that there is no subscription required; the included local storage makes it a much better long-term value. One area of concern is the initial wireless pairing process, as it could definitely be more robust to make that first-time setup smoother. Despite that early friction, the stability of the dual-band Wi-Fi connection and the accuracy of the human detection alerts mean I’m not constantly dealing with false alarms. Overall, this is a highly capable, high-resolution doorbell that offers great peace of mind once you get past that initial pairing step.

works with conventional doorbell
This will delete your existing doorbell, but keeps the power supply. New house, builder used a strange all in one doorbell and power supply. Not compatible, have to use the battery function, which means charging the battery in the camera. The indoor reciever is now the doorbell as wellThe basic wiring you have to do is swap your original button with the camera. then bypass your doorbell itself so the wires going to the button are now just a power supply. The receiver is your new doorbell, has the memory card in the receiver. Camera has a secure clip that take a release pin to remove it. Which if you are using it on battery is how you will be charging it.
