Great Quality USB PC Microphone for Everything from Meetings to Podcast Recordings
I don’t podcast but I do have a lot of online meetings and also teach virtual classes regularly for work, so I decided to try out this microphone to see if it improved my audio set up. The microphone is clearly very good quality, with solid and heavy-duty materials, and it was larger than I had anticipated. When I opened the box I was immediately impressed with how substantial it is, both in terms of size and feel. I used it as a microphone with my laptop’s built-in speaker audio since I mostly work from home and don’t have to worry about bothering other people with the sound, but it has an audio jack on the bottom, next to the USB-C plug that you use to plug the microphone into your device, in case you want to plug in headphones or speakers. It was very easy to change the settings when I plugged the microphone in so that it used the external mic and internal speakers. I particularly like how the end of the cord that goes into your computer has both a USB-C and a USB-A plug end, since my work laptop only has two USB-C plugs and both were already in use.I haven’t taught a class with it yet, but I used it on some of my Teams calls last week and asked for feedback on the sound. At first I had the sound down too low on the microphone and they said it sounded like I was far away from the computer, but after I turned it up to about 75-80% they said it sounded great. After I try it on one of my recorded classes I’ll be sure to listen to the recording and see how much of a difference it makes from my usual built-in microphone. So far I’m really happy with this PC microphone, both in terms of the physical microphone itself and the reported sound quality. The only slight downside is that it needs to be tilted in one direction or the other because of where the cords plug in to the bottom of the microphone; this isn’t a problem for how I plan to use the microphone, but I could see it becoming an issue if you had more than one person recording a class together using the same microphone, for example. I’m still giving it 5 stars, and I think it’s a great value for the cost!

Mic Check One Two
I had a podcast with a friend a few years ago and we didn’t have a proper microphone. We made it work but it wasn’t the best production and we certainly sounded like the amateurs we were. The plan is to revisit it and this is nice to have when the time comes. For now I’m using it mainly to test out the features and determine what works and what doesn’t. Since I’ve never owned one of these types of mics before I don’t have anything to compare it to. But so far it gets decent marks based on functionality, sound quality, and build.I don’t know if similar versions are made like this but this one feels very lightweight and almost hollow on thr inside. It weighs practically nothing, making it easy to move around on the stand. I’m not sure if that’s considered a good thing because I’ve used a musical standing mics before and they were heavy and solid. But I’m guessing this isn’t truly professional grade based on the affordable price so it’s probably fine. Speaking of, I did notice there are several popular and highly rated versions for less so I wouldn’t consider this the most economical version for a newbie.It connected easily to my HP Omnibook and setup using the USB was simple enough. Obviously it has to remain connected to the laptop while in use, which limits movability. But again, not a deal breaker for me since we’ll be recoding at a desk and need a computer nearby anyway.I like the location of the controls and thought the audio output was very good. It definitely sounded much better than using our phones to record audio. Everything was clear and there wasn’t any kind of muffling, feedback or delay. The mute button was also a nice addition that I hadn’t expected. There seems to be lots of competition out there and this microphone seems to be a good starter model.

Fantastic USB Mic for Streamers and Podcasters just starting out!
I’ve considering getting into streaming for quite some time, but I didn’t pull the trigger until just recently. With my streaming venture being in the infant stage and not wanting to drop a ton of money on something until I knew I was going to stick with it, this mic was perfect for me. Honestly I don’t see a reason to upgrade to a higher dollar mic any time soon considering just how well this mic is working. My voice clarity is great and with this mic having multiple profiles for different content, this mic punches well above its price point. I love that this mic has independent analog dials for mic volume and mic monitoring, as well as having multiple background noise reduction settings.
