One of my favorite portable strobe solutions, but don’t really suggest upgrading from a version 1.
This is a slight upgrade to one of my favorite portable strobe solutions. I’ve had several of the version 1’s of this light (Well the Adorama Flashpoint version, which is a just a rebrand of Godox), and they easily earned their cost over and over with professional work and had zero issues. Initial testing of this version 2 one gives me zero doubt that these will continue to be a potent workhorse and just plain awesome portable lighting solution. It’s neat to see some of the upgrades on this, but it isn’t exactly major stuff in the wheel house that I’m aiming for generally, but do plan on using more such as the slightly faster duration speed on the flash for motion stopping, and also the 1/512 power. I haven’t been able to enable 1/512 though despite using an XC2 and other smart triggers for the system, so will try to see if that’s just use error or if something special needs to be done.Wireless connectivity on this unit is a no brainer, and instant. Worst comes to worst you can force sync it at the press of a button, but changing things on this control was quick and easy. Changing power on either the unit itself or your remote is fine, though the remote is a little better once you have the light up in the air. At least the controls are on the side so you can see your settings, unlike some strobes where the info is all on the back. The 600w is sexxy, and you can easily do some F16 iso 100 shooting and get some awesome portraiture with this with a deep softbox if you wanted. The refresh isn’t instant at full power, but it’s plenty fast enough. At lower powers such as 1/8~1/16th the recycle is super quick and makes for a streamlined easy portraiture flow. All of the bowen mount modifiers I had for the version 1’s work with this one without issues. I do love how streamline these look compared to the old one.I can’t exactly recommend anyone who has the version 1’s pay for the upgrade to get these. 40w modelling lamp and some of the extra features isn’t exactly worth the upgrade price. If you don’t have any sort of portable battery powered strobe though and want chunky power with ease of use, this light is awesome. Just make sure to get a trigger with it when you buy it.Can easily overpower the sun if needed, even with a modifier on.

Workhorse
Obscene amounts of power. I never crank it up, because I don’t need to, but the recycle time is super fast. No TTL, but I think it’s better to learn manual control anyway. TTL has its place, but if you want full creative control you’ll go manual anyway. The battery lasts a long time, and this beefy workhorse will be a huge asset to your studio. You’ll need a strong light stand, maybe even a c stand, though I prefer rollers. At full power, you’re unleashing the sun. Beneficial if you have the space to set the light far back. You could even use this at events and just have it illuminate from the corner of the room. The menu is really easy to navigate. It’s really a good light, and good to get if you’re wanting to save a bit of money by foregoing TTL.

Powerful & Affordable 600W Flash – Great Value!
The Godox AD600BM II delivers excellent performance at a great price. With 600Ws of power and a bright 40W LED modeling lamp, it handles most lighting situations with ease. Works flawlessly with my Nikon Z8, Z6, and Canon R6. The LED modeling lamp is even compatible with AD600 Pro accessories, including the same reflectors.Build quality is solid overall, but a few trade-offs: the tripod mount is plastic (unlike the AD600 Pro’s metal one), there’s no weather sealing, and the screen feels a bit basic with plastic covering. Still, for the price, it’s an amazing value for a reliable and powerful flash unit.

Reliable, Powerful, and Ready for Anything
The Godox AD600BM II is a beast in a compact package. With 600Ws of power, it delivers a Guide Number of 87 at ISO 100, making it suitable for both studio and outdoor shoots. The 40W LED modeling lamp provides continuous lighting for video work or scene setup. Its high-speed sync capability up to 1/8000s and flash durations as short as 1/11,760s ensure you can capture fast-moving subjects with precision. The built-in 2.4GHz wireless X system offers seamless integration with Godox triggers, and the one-tap sync feature simplifies setup. The 2.8-inch TFT color screen provides clear control over settings, and the 16-color group indicator lights help manage multiple lights in complex setups. With a battery life of up to 500 full-power flashes and a recycle time of 0.01–1.9 seconds, the AD600BM II is built for efficiency and reliability.Whether you’re shooting portraits, events, or product photography, the AD600BM II offers the power, versatility, and portability you need.

Box was just delivered today, and box was not damaged! Bulb is busted and the battery is missing completely! I’m trying to get help and it tells me it is non-returnable? Please help!

Not an improvement over the last model.
Powerful flash. Bought this upgraded model from the one I borrowed from a friend. Somehow they thought putting LESS buttons for basic functions on it was an improvement. Infuriating. Spent 30 minutes so far and still can’t figure out how to change the channel on it so my camera trigger will communicate with it. They removed the obvious button that changes it. Ridiculous. Bad design.

Does exactly what I need it to do. I don’t need ttl I need an affordable powerful flash for outdoor group portraits. I paired this strobe with Godox qr-p150t soft box and x3n wireless trigger for Nikon. So far works amazing. Which is what I expected
