Drone lost on third flight due to malfunction.
I really like all the features that get shipped with this little camera drone. It has so much stuff including a remote with a screen to show the camera view in real-time, an anti-collision sensor, a case, two batteries, and more. I was really excited to get this out and fly it. Charging the batteries was easy as it just uses regular USB-C style connectors. Installing the collision sensor on top was easy to. Just note, once it is installed it is very difficult to remove it. Had I known that, I might have left it off.Getting the controller connected to the drone was easy. It did take quite a while (more than 5 minutes) for the drone to find GPS satellites. I also found the compass calibration routine to be confusing and not well described. However, I did managed to complete this. The initial flight was flawless. I got some great pictures of my area from high up. I was disappointed in the range. It really cannot go very far. Even straight up it quickly ran out of transmitter range.My big issue came on my third flight. Having two successful flights gave me some confidence to explore the area a little and take some video. While doing this, the drone experienced a catastrophic malfunction. On its own, without any input from me, it began listing to the side. I tried to correct this, but it was continuing to approach an obstacle. The on-board obstacle sensors were not working. I tried to level the drone with no success. I did manage to raise its altitude to avoid hitting anything, which it did successfully. Over the next few seconds the listing became worse, and suddenly the drone accelerated away from my position at high speed. This took the drone well beyond the range of the transmitter and visual sight. It was lost.I drove around with the controller attempting to reconnect to the drone. I managed to get a very weak signal, and could see from the camera it was on the ground. So, it survived the crash. However, I could not locate the drone with any specific accuracy to actually recover the drone. The “find my drone” feature requires using the app. I installed the app, but I could find no corresponding way of using the app to locate the drone.As is, I would only recommend this drone for low-level flying indoors, or in an enclosed area. I would not fly it very far away. Because of this, I feel it provides rather low value and feel there are other more affordable and reliable options in the market. I would urge caution when flying this drone.

Pretty good drone, priced competitively, but also steep learning curve for a newbie
I was interested in some aerial photos and videos of my home and this one popped up on Amazon. I’m a complete and utter newbie so I tried to read the manual first…but this was a challenge. It’s very small and very short at least if you don’t know what you are doing. So I charged everything and calibrated the thing and it all worked fine. But then I made the mistake to not wait long enough for the satellites to connect…I think. It seems to take like 5min and the drone will beep when its ready. I started the thing, and it kind of ran wild and crashed a few times into the grass. This is how I learned that thing is pretty sturdy.Second time, I figured I download the app, and the app has a start and land button and it all worked flawlessly. I was able to automatically start and land and stuff. I now googled for a manual and found some related manuals, and even one youtube tutorial – yay!. I also learned while googling and reading reviews that apparently there are quite a few of the drones for sale under all kinds of different names. The general tone in the reviews is that these are pretty good drones, well priced, and with a huge functionality that usually can be found in the $300-500 range.Well, now I had the confidence to try a third time, which was a charme! Now with the remote again, and hence the SD card installed I was able to easily fly that thing and even take some photos from my house and all. Unfortunately, one battery run out after only maybe 10-15 min so I stopped there. Mainly because another problem I found is that the drone lost connection quite frequently not too far away hoovering over my house, and in the end it started beeping because the battery went low. It wanted to land somehow and somewhere but not where I was expecting. Panic! I managed to get it down manually or the home button again..not sure what did the trick. Well, there is still a lot to learn for me but this drone seems to be a good choice so far. I’m sure some kids will manage it from the start, but hey, old folks wanna have fun too!.
