Simple Setup with Home Assistant!
** EDITED ADDITION **While I stand by everything in my original review, I wanted to provide a followup after using these devices in my smart home (home assistant) for several months. As others have mentioned, they setup flawlessly, but the disconnect from my 2.4gz network way to often, and my issue is not a matter of wifi signal interference as some might think. I have a typical 1600 sqft single story home with a mesh network & fiber-optic internet connectivity. I have repeaters at good spots in my home, and have no other drop signal issues. But as I am typing this, of the 11 I have purchased and scattered throughout my home, right now, exactly zero of them are connected to my wifi. The build is solid. The outlets “work” but are just not smart-connected.To reconnect them, I put traditional plastic screw-on covers over them, so I have to go around my house, unscrewing the covers, deleting the devices from home assistant and re-pairing them one by one by scanning the QR code on the front corner of the device. This is really inconvenient, especially when it happens about every month.Still, I don’t think it’s a hardware issue! I’m guessing it’s a firmware problem, and that should improve eventually via updates from the manufacturer.Would I still buy them today? If it was for one, maybe two outlets, yes. For my “whole house?” No. I’d wait till the tech was a bit more tested, stable & solid.** ORIGINAL REVIEW **This outlet is a 5 minute install. It’s really that simple. I’ve installed other outlets & more expensive outlets, but never one this easy. Just insert the correct wires into the marked port-holes and tighten down the screws. Done. This product feels well made and it fit back into the gang box perfectly. The cover snaps over the included mounting frame snugly. This is the first Matter device I have bought for my home assistant setup and it installed flawlessly, exactly how the Matter standard is supposed to work. I didn’t have to download and app. I didn’t have to jump thru a bunch of proprietary hoops. I just scanned the included QR code, selected “home assistant” as the application to access my Matter hub and the product was added to my instance of home assistant. Seriously. That was it. It couldn’t have been easier.Additionally, this device had the “UL” logo on the backside which gave me confidence when placing it in the wall of my house.

Great Smart Home Addition!
I think these are awesome, I haven’t had any issues. With Matter and Alexa as soon as your finished installing and turn the outlet back on, it automatically adds to Alexa. I love that I can use both Apple Home and Alexa for the full experience. I have 4 in my house, since I love to control all my Christmas Trees and Garlands without the need for the extra bulky smart plug. Love these so far!!!

Only one outlet is “smart”
Unfortunately I didn’t see anything regarding my major complaint, in that it only has one smart outlet and the other is always on.As far as setup and use, so far I’ve had no issues. It paired to my Apple home easily, I added it to an automation to control my Christmas tree lights and that has worked without issues. Too early to tell if it will experience connectivity issues which has been a major complaint from other reviews.Another downside is if you use the child protection for the outlets as many of us do. For whatever reason these outlets refused to let me pull the protectors out easily. I’ve broken two of the style I use and had to use a pry bar to get them out. I’m wondering if maybe you worked a three prong plug in and out a few times that maybe they’ll loosen up… I’m sure there’s an innuendo in there somewhere but I’ll leave that up to you!

Can’t connect to wifi using Connect App!
Does not connect to the original legrand Connect app. One of my outlets failed and this was a replacement to that one however we just can’t get this to connect to wifi! Will update the review once CS gets back to me.

Stops responding constantly
Constantly needs to be re-paired with HomeKit. I have upwards for 30 items on my HomeKit/matter and this is the only one that gives me trouble. Every few days it just stops responding. I’ve had it for a couple months now and reset it at least 6 times. That means I need to delete it from items, put it back in pairing mode, rescan the barcode that is UNDER the faceplate of the receptacle, and then reprogram the timer I want on that plug. This would quality it as not easy to use. Installation is the same as any outlet. Only one of the outlets it’s smart and the other is always on. When it’s working it’s great. Too bad it’s usually not working.

Functional smart outlet for your smart home
I’ve been moving more toward smart home and love that this is Matter. I don’t feel comfortable changing outlets but when I found someone who could do so I was happy to set this up and and get it connected. I integrate it with my Alexa app right now. I feel most comfortable using this for lamps to turn them on and off remotely, but have this in an outlet near where my Christmas tree goes so will definitley use this to schedule the lights on and off.
