Fantastic Camera — Clear, Reliable, and Truly Wireless
I recently purchased the Reolink Argus PT Ultra + Solar Panel, and I’m genuinely impressed with how well this setup performs. The 4K clarity is outstanding—day or night, the footage is crisp, detailed, and far better than any battery‑powered camera I’ve used before. The pan/tilt function is smooth, and the auto‑tracking actually works the way it should, following motion without getting confused or jittery. The included solar panel is a game changer. Once mounted, the camera stays fully charged without me ever needing to touch it. Between the dual‑band Wi‑Fi 6 connection and the clean Reolink app, the live view loads quickly and stays stable.I also love that there are no subscription fees. Everything records straight to the microSD card, and the camera gives me full control without locking features behind a paywall.Overall, this is a high‑quality, reliable, and easy‑to-use security solution. If you want a true set‑it‑and‑forget‑it outdoor camera with excellent image quality, this one is absolutely worth it.

This is a very high quality unit, thoroughly familiarize yourself with the instruction assembly ma
Making notes halfway through assembly out of the box. The camera took its time getting charged, as soon as it was plugged in it began explaining in five languages how to use the QR code with the instructions to obtain the app for the camera, I’m sure all it needs is the point your camera into the other camera and they will Hardware handshake I’m sure that’s no problem. Everything else has been smooth, carefully examine all the packing boxes become because some of the packages of screws are partly hidden inside the Box also be sure to locate the antenna at the bottom of the box. Assembly is obviously rudimentary very simple a Philips number one micro screwdriver, comes with the Allen key you need. Assembly was very simple it is able to attach to an 8-in diameter steel pole on my stairway to my apartment building if this works well, I will go right ahead and buy a duplicate companion, mount themn back to back and have complete 360 View. Very impressed so far, Sam

The first Reolink product I’ve ever been ENTIRELY disappointed with.
First off, in order to make this camera in any way reasonably useful, you’ve got to buy their Home Hub or Home Hub Pro, an additional purchase that they don’t tell you upfront is kinda sorta necessary for this camera to work as intended and advertised, even if you have your own NVR setup. Using it in standalone mode with any other NVR is terribly unreliable. So, I ended up buying the damn Home Hub, too, creating a second redundant NVR on my network for no good reason.Second, their claims of four-month battery life is if the camera never does a damn thing ever. The puny-ass 5-watt solar panel they include with the camera is worthless and cannot sustain the camera for 24-hour operation with even the lightest of usage settings in anything other than the blaring hot sun of an 18-hour desert day. I’ve had this camera installed for two weeks now; it dies every evening by 8pm, and doesn’t power back on again until nearly noon the next day, despite getting 6+ hours of direct TEXAS sun every day! I’ve watched the battery levels drop while the sun was blaring directly at the panel. It’s absurd that they thought this panel was enough, combined with the sneaky hub requirements, and I feel scammed. In testing, and then finally getting around to installing this camera, I’ve elapsed my 30 day return window. So I’m stuck with it. My options are to run a power cable all the way out to the camera (defeating the damned point of a solar powered camera), or install a larger solar panel, which Reolink will happily sell me for an upcharge.I should have just installed another POE camera and been done with it. I’ll never buy another one of Reolink’s wireless products again. I’ve been a customer for years, and their wired products are excellent. Avoid this wireless garbage; it’s a rabbit hole of upsells and pure disappointment.

Very pleased with the product
Very pleased with the purchase. Working perfectly to monitor a new owl nest in our tree. I climbed ladder and disturbed the owl slightly but got it in a perfect location. Here are some key points:Battery: I am getting 8 days with no solar attachment. It’s in a tree so very little sunlight and the squirrels would just chew the wire. This is less than advertised but exceeded my needs. I just dangled a power cord down the tree and put the USB C adapter in a waterproof container. Then I just plug it in once a week. That is with about 100 detections a day recording each for 8 seconds. Your mileage with your settings will vary. Charges back to 100% in 6 hours. Maybe someday I will have a use for the solar panel.Storage: I have used 12GB in two weeks with 100 detections a day each for 8 seconds. It’s a 128GB card…..way overkill.Infra-Red: The Infrared at night is the best clarity for my use looking into the dark nest. I was not entirely sure looking at the specs that it had infra-red capability.Sensitivity: It took a few days fiddling with the settings to get the right triggers. The non-detection mask is critical for avoiding false triggers with leaves and such.Capture: Keep in mind that these battery powered cameras cannot capture the first couple seconds of activity like a wired NVR system can. To save battery they go into idle mode and wake up on detection. I see some complaints about this but I can’t ding the product for this unless I was OK with a 6 hour battery life to stay active all the time.NVR Integration: In short, no, you cannot record the recordings to your NVR (if you have one). But as a consolation, the camera shows up in the phone and desktop app, right next to the other cameras. Just be aware the recordings are coming from the SD card on the camera, and take a little more time to retrieve.Water: We have a couple torrential downpours. No issue yet after two weeks.Very Pleased.

REOLINK 4K Solar Wireless Outdoor Security Cameras SystemInstallation and setup were extremely easy, and the system delivers excellent resolution both day and night. I really appreciate the local storage in the Reolink Hub — no monthly fees required. After a few days of use, I’m happy with the results and still exploring the many settings to fine‑tune it for my needs. It costs a bit more than the ultra‑cheap units, but the added quality and reliability are well worth the extra dollars.

This is the Reolink Ultra PT battery security camera. I also purchased the additional solar panel to enable recharging of the battery that is not removable. The camera has high quality colour and or black and white footage and operates based on sensor when motion is detected and is not constantly recording. Features too many to name but the handy Reolink app allows all sorts of settings and recordings to be viewed remotely on iPad or iPhone or Android devices after initial set up which again is relatively straight forward. You can also apply “mask” to the app so you are not viewing neighbours windows on houses or other areas. No subscription or ongoing fees to use app. The battery life before recharging will vary dependant on use and viewing currently mine has lasted 4 weeks on one charge (limited daily viewing) Battery cannot be removed for charging and a usb cable can either be connected to the solar panel (additional cost or by connecting to a powerbank. If you can’t be bothered with charging purchase the wired option and have it connected to power source. The advantage of the battery option is it can be relocated without an electrician and if the mains power goes off during storm or other outage your battery operated reolinhk will still work. You can record to a micro sd card (additional purchase) to store footage if you don’t wish to purchase a full recording system. The slot in the camera is in a protected position on the device to avoid weather or quick removal by an intruder. The camera has an alarm, speaker to talk to persons at house , although this only picks up clear audio within a few metres of the camera. Also has strong lights for night time recording in colour The camera has a tool to lock the camera into the cradle to prevent it being easily removed by an intruder, it has two different attachments so can be installed under an eave or on a post or facia board of a building. It appears to be well built. There are many Reolink battery and hard wired cameras available and I would based on current use and experience purchase another or something similar or updated model within the Reolink range.Best advice before purchase is to make sure it will suit your own individual security requirements.
