Please see my video review for a demonstration of this unit. I received this test unit early from the company, but this won’t influence my review. This unit is sturdy, well made, and very bright. It has many points for adjustment. The controls for color temperature and brightness are easy to use, both directly on the unit and by using the provided remote control. My only complaint is that the stem that you use to attach a camera or the included phone holder to the rest of the ring is too long. This results in the phone holder being loose and floppy if you are trying to touch your phone, for instance if you wanted to zoom in. I resolved the problem by adding a few washers under the phone holder. But at this price point, that shouldn’t have been necessary. Watch the video review for more information on this. It is possible that this was just on the unit I received, but I would have been upset with it if I had paid full price, even though it’s easily remedied with a few washers. Without this flaw, I would easily give it 5 stars. With it, I reduced to 4. My wife is starting her first year as an assistant principal, so I think this unit is going to her school for teachers to use making videos for virtual learning. But it would be useful in a home office or for podcasting or youtube video production. If you need a light ring, please consider this one.UPDATE – after contacting the company and sharing my video with them, they checked their stock and said none of the units they have in stock have the defect that mine did. It was my only complaint, and none of the other reviewers seemed to have this issue either. I do know this company will make things right if you were to have a similar problem – they’ve helped me in the past. So I heartily recommend the product now.

Buy new not used, Great light!
I will be upfront in saying I bought this light “used like new” from Amazon. The buttons and bolts of the light were busted through the box it arrived in. The two dial buttons in the back are both busted up but still functional. Attaching the post was tough as the base it attaches to was slightly damaged (up on arrival) though I was eventually able to get the post on. Just pull up on the post and you can adjust the ht. to its needed ht. VERY sturdy (The base has some weight to it preventing tipping). The light is nice and bright, there is a dial option to have the light as dim or bright as you want, it has dual option for changing the tone of the light as well. Remote and snapshot buttons are handy though the remote is also busted and there is also a cell phone holder that easily attaches to the post for recording. It’s a great light but maybe spend the extra $20-$30 to buy NEW and not USED. No carrying case or bag.

First time ever buying a lighting solution like this, and overall I’m really happy with the product. Shipping and customer service are both prompt, and the overall build quality is solid, especially considering the price point that it’s at.Out of the box it takes maybe 2 minutes to set-up and it has mounts for both a DSLR or cell phone which is a nice touch, plenty of height and angle adjustments as well which gives you plenty of options to work with. In addition to that, the range of light and temperature is quite wide and adjusts using a sliding scale, letting you adjust for both daytime shots and nighttime shots with minimal natural lighting.Some extra small additions like a bluetooth remote that that connects to your phone, and another one for controlling the settings on the ring light make for some excellent quality of life additions.Overall I would definitely recommend the product, especially for anyone who’s getting into video/camera work for the first time and needs a easy to use and reliable product.

I sought out a ringlight and found this one as the best deal for the size.When it arrived I was taken aback by the size of the light. It is huge. Bigger than I anticipated. So unboxing I was, initially, pleasantly surprised.However the light itself was made of plastic that seems cheap, and not very sturdy. Though that was a criticism at first, I realized that an actual glass bulb attached to a heavier frame would not be a good idea. Should it fall for any reason you’d be out quite a bit ‘o money.Next I was surprised by the tripod. Though not a top of the line metallic product with stability, it is sturdy enough, made of metal, and extends to about 6 feet, definitely great enough for whatever use you have for it. The light sits nicely on it, and there is no fear of having it tip over.It comes with two remotes, one for your phone and the other to control the light. Using the controls on the light itself is a touch difficult to get it to the warmth i want, so the remote is useful.The brightness is very bright, and the warmth is at the other end of the spectrum, so I can find a variety of light tones if need be.Overall it’s a great light. A touch expensive for the materials used, but likely the best rate you’ll find out there. It’s big, bright (and dimmable), and sturdy enough.

Update – The ring light broke after 1 month of having it. The light started to become dimmer and dimmer and eventually wouldn’t turn on. I ended up have to buy 2 other ring lights to complete my 3 point lighting system. It was great while it lasted but a complete waste of money. I wouldn’t recommend buying. I’ve attached my initial review below.I looked at many ring lights, this is the best one in terms of price, size, ease of use, sturdiness, height, and overall bang for your buck. Be prepared that it is powerfully bright and is bigger than most 18 inch ring lights. Overall amazing quality and you won’t be disappointed.
