Weatherproof and well made; works great with the Wyze app
We purchased this to use with holiday lights, wanting an easy way to schedule on/off cycles, and also control the lights directly whether we’re home or away. We’ve found this plug delivers well for those use cases.Notes:* The cord on this is approximately 5″. The “box”, is approximately 2.75″W 4″H and 1.5″D.* The plugs are standard 15A at 120 volts, 60 hertz (approximately 1,800 watts)* The plugs do not have dimming capabilities, these are on/off only* The plugs (2) work independently of eachtother* All schedules or rules are created in the app, the plug does not have “controls” on it, other than on/off buttons* These operate on 2.4GHz so they will work within a ‘normal’ range for this band. Ours is within 25′ of our home and we’ve never experienced an issue with connectivity.* Setup and connection to the Wyze app was simple and pain free. Creating a schedule was also quick and easy.Improvement suggestion:The plug is designed to hang down, which intelligently keeps rainwater from coming near the points of contact. It would have been great if they used a 90 degree plug rather than the “straight out” plug which causes the cord to then bend at a 90 degree angle. The cord is thick enough that I don’t have concerns about it failing, but it seems like this small alteration would have been a no-brainer. I see this on many of the cheaper, off-brand versions of these outdoor smart plugs.At just under $10 and are very pleased with its construction and performance. We have other Wyze devices in our home so it was nice to purchase a Wyze plug and not have to download yet another app to control smart devices. If you use Alexa, this should work well for you, too.

Great and affordable product
I love Wyze products, they are affordable and easy to set up. The sensor died on my outdoor light transformer so I got this, it worked perfect to turn my lights on and off for the schedule I set up.

Smart, Reliable, and Weatherproof!
The Wyze Plug Outdoor has been a game-changer for my outdoor setup. The dual outlets are super convenient, and I love being able to control each one independently through the Wyze app. Setup was quick and easy, and the connection has been rock-solid.The energy monitoring feature is a great bonus — it’s helped me track power usage and save on my electric bill. Plus, it’s built tough for all kinds of weather. Perfect for holiday lights, garden fountains, or any outdoor gear. Highly recommend!

Water Pump Friendly – Easy Setup
Pros:- Easy to use with our water pumps we use to transfer water but also our diaphragm on/off pump.- The digital ‘switches’ in the app are at the top of the app, easily accessible- The plug feels really strong, doesn’t come out of our old wall socket easy. Same with the female portsCons:- The widgets on iPhone are limiting compared to other brands. From what I can see, we dont have on/off buttons on widgets. I’ll update this if I find out otherwise.- While the buttons aren’t super hard to use, it’d be nice if they made them more visible with clear numbers instead of going for the sleek black look. Basically they went for aesthetics instead of usability here.Final Thoughts:- Plug is strong- Easy Setup- Timing from on to off (or visa versa) is within 2 seconds (will depend on your network setup)

LOVE this plug
I have two of these at this point. I use the Wyze security cams, doorbell, and robot vacuum. Safe to say I’m a fan of the brand, but these are so convenient. Here’s how I’m utilizing them.My house has a big back yard but no spotlights. I had bought solar powered lights before, but they only ever lasted a year or so. I bought plug in spot lights that are much brighter than the solar powered ones and ran extension cords to them. Now I can actually see my dogs in the back yard when I let them out.My setup to my outside is weird – my upper deck has 0 exterior outlets, but I do have one directly underneath on my lower steps. I ran a short extension cord from this smart plug up to my deck, and now I can easily turn on my string lights without having to either go downstairs to plug them in or run a cord through my house and having to prop open my door.TLDR; the ability to remotely control electronics through an app I already use makes my life so much easier. I’ve had my first one for about 2 years now. Never had any issues.

Easy quick setup and seem to work well
Although these are for outside I bought these for use inside in areas where I need two plugs controlled by one outlet. I cannot believe how easy these setup and just connected to Wi-Fi, right out of the box, compared to other smart devices in my house. I did not have to play any games, drop the security on my router or any other weird stuff. They did come with a firmware that was approximately a year old. And a couple of them took a couple tries to update the firmware but, overall, now that they’re all updated they’re working even better. These devices were truly a joy to work with and I will not hesitate to buy Wyze devices again!I do have one, very, very annoying complaint though … Why in the world don’t these have a 90 degree plug !?!? Especially If they are designed to work outdoors and in a protected box.For the future … Two nice features would be dimmable or three way sockets.Update Aug 2023: We had a Thunderstorm and power outage. Since then, all of these have remained disconnected in both the Wyze and Alexa apps while every other device in the house has well since reconnected. This is NOT good as they are buried behind couches, buffets, etc … Those I can see just sit there with the blue light blinking. I was able to unplug two of them and plugged them back in but they still will not reconnect. Lowering my rating as this is an absolutey HUGE issue if this happens every power outage and everything has to be re-setup.Update June 2024: There must have been some kind of firmware update because now they seem to reconnect with no issues after a power outage. Moving my review back up to five stars.
