Amazon Basics Smart Plugs are super easy to install…
I choose these Amazons Smart Plugs particularly because they only require a the Alexa app to set-up and maintain, where GHome and other brands require two separate apps to do the same. These smart plugs offer Sunset or Sunrise control which can be combined with a time-of-day for your turn-off time. Ie: candle lights. Some brands only offer time-of-day on and off. Using Sunset as the start time, eliminates the need to keep adjusting the start times throughout the year as daylight gets longer or shorter.I used the Alexa voice assistant to glide through the setup process which was supper easy. So far they are working flawlessly, using Wi-Fi to control them!I highly recommend them! 👍

Setup issues, but once connected they all worked perfectly. Great value.
Clumsy setup, took multiple tries then had to manually input my wifi network info in. But once they each connected, the process was perfect, working by voice command with my echo devices and Alexa app. My previous smart plugs made a clicking sound when they turned on and off and these are completely silent. Great value for 4 plugs. In case anyone else is having setup issues, when my network didn’t show up in the list I choose Manual>WAN>then input the name and password, then it all fell into place.

Excellent Smart Plugs
This is my review of Amazon’s Smart Plugs (2 pack)I have been using “smart” devices for a long time, and still remember all the hoops you had to jump through to get them to work properly.These plugs, only work with Alexa devices, and are as close to plug-and-play as it gets.When I ordered them, I had the option to set them up before they were delivered. I did, and when I received them and plugged them in, they were ready to go.One of the plugs, I use with a lamp that I turn on/off with voice commands, and the other, I use with a routine I wrote that turns on lights 1/2 hour before sundown, and turns them off 1/2 hour after sunrise.They work with a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, and although you might have a newer wireless router, most allow use at this setting. In addition, they are controlled though the Alexa app, and no other software or hubs are required.After several months, they are working without any problems.Good reliable plugs, that are easy set up. I plan on picking up a few more.

Great plug! I know it is “basic” and “simple” but the set up was a breeze, and the basic design made it easy to use and figure out and revived my ottlamp that wouldn’t turn on after the external switch broke. Yay! 😁

I bought 3 of these smart plugs for my Christmas lights. They were easy to set up with Alexa, you can rename the plugs to whatever you want or keep them as is. No more struggling to get behind the Christmas tree to turn the lights on and off everyday. You can simply say the command, “Alexa turn on first plug”, or you can schedule them to turn on and off at specific times using the Alexa Home app. Now that the Christmas decor is down I am excited to find a place to repurpose these plugs in my home.
