Good quality audio
One of the best mics I’ve ever had. Love how it turns on and off with camera. Last so long before having to charge

Awesome Rode Microphone
After my friend recorded a SpaceX launch on her iPhone I decided to try it with my Nikon Camera. I was still disappointed with the audio. So I decided to research mics and came up with this model. It has sensitivity settings to match the sound level of what you are recording and the sensitivity of your recording device. It was easy to adjust without even reading directions. And it captured the sounds of the SpaceX launches perfectly even though they are very very loud. This mic captures it all with ease.It powers on and off automatically with my camera so that you can’t forget to turn it on or off. It’s a top rated mic in my opinion.

Great sound, great pickup, easy mounting, long battery life
I use this for videoconferencing mounted above my monitor and out of the frame of my camera. Really great sound and I can comfortably be 8 inches from the microphone. It runs off battery for about 10 days or so and turns on only when my camera is on. I turn the camera off and the microphone turns off also which is great for that battery life. I can’t run it off a USB brick like I thought I would be able to because it picks up some hum in the recorded audio somehow. So after 10 days or so it runs flat and people complain that they can’t hear me. I tried running it off a USB power battery but the internal battery lasts long enough that I dont bother. Because the power light is around the back of it, I can’t see it without poking my head around. Anyhow, when that happens, I change to another microphone and plug this one into a USB brick.

Don’t buy it to use with a phone
It’s a good product, but I sent mine back because it’s too complicated to use with the phone. You need too many adapters to make it work. If you’re getting it to use with your DSLR camera it’s great. Has a lower internal noise than some of the other mics that I’ve tried. Probably the biggest problem with the audio is that it picks up way too much low end which can make it sound comparatively less clear and crisp than some other mics. But honestly, that can be fixed in post and it really only matters if you’re literally listening to side by side audio comparisons.

Great build quality, solid noise cancellation methods, one of the best I’ve used for video work!
This was priced a bit cheaper than similar options, which made it an easy choice. I’ve actually owned this mic before, so I already knew what to expect in terms of build quality and performance. The construction feels solid and durable, and the noise reduction does a great job cutting down background sounds for cleaner audio. It’s been reliable for video work and easy to set up, which is exactly what I need when filming.Looking forward to using this again for upcoming projects, definitely a dependable option if you want good audio without overcomplicating your setup.

Worth it?
I paid $255. Best buy sells this mic for $300. I was skeptical of ordering due to the repetitive 1 star reviews. I noticed those reviews are from years ago and decided to try it out. No regrets mic has work has fine so far. This mic is top notch and worth buying.ConsFor some reason it looks scratched on the base but nothing to crazy.A lot of reviews said that the foam had an indent and mine did too hut that is because of the wiring that is in the packaging. I plan on adding a dead cat so not even worried and it also does not affect its performance.Extremely satisfied with my purchase. Frankly I was expecting the worst but glad that was not the case! Hope you all have the same experience. If anything I will update my review
